Leicester vs Chelsea predictions and football betting tips for the Premier League match on Saturday 14th January with a first goalscorer and booking betting tip.

Champions Leicester City host title favourites Chelsea in the Saturday evening kick-off this Saturday and it promises to be an intriguing game. Here are three tips and predictions for the game live on BT Sport.

Leicester are currently six points clear of the relegation zone and will hope to extend that gap before the Champions League returns in February. Whether FIFA manager of the year Claudio Ranieri will want to admit it or not, the Champions league did affect their form and they need to be careful that this season doesn’t end in humiliation after winning the title last season. They have only lost once in their last five games in all competitions and last week’s surprising win at Everton will give them confidence going into this game. They will also be buoyed by the fact they dominated one of the other title contenders earlier in the season when they defeated Manchester City 4-2 and a similar performance would make for a great game on Saturday.

Chelsea’s record equalling run came to an end in their last Premier League match when they lost to Tottenham 2-0 at White Hart Lane but they still remain firm favourites for the title. They go into this match five points clear at the top and with Liverpool and Arsenal to face in the next few weeks I think this could be a pivotal spell in the season for Antonio Conte’s men. They defeated Peterborough in the FA cup last week 4-1 with Pedro and Willian among the scorers and this shows that even without star men Diego Costa and Eden Hazard they still have talented players and have strength in depth in the attacking positions. Chelsea’s last visit to the King Power stadium was the last match in charge for Jose Mourinho after a 2-1 defeat and they will be hoping for a better result on Saturday.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Predictions

My first Leicester vs Chelsea betting tip is going to be for over 2.5 goals to be in the game. This has happened in four of their last five meetings and happened in the two previous meetings this season. I also think that Chelsea will want to bounce back after their last league match against Tottenham and could put on a really strong performance here. Odds for this are 10/11 at Betfair and this is my top selection for the game.

My second Leicester vs Chelsea prediction is for Diego Costa to score first. He had a rest last week when they played in the FA Cup and will want to add to his fourteen goals that he has already scored this season and will fancy his chances against this Leicester back-line. He also scored first when these sides met back in October and you can find odds of 3/1 for the big man to score first at Sky Bet.

My third and final Leicester vs Chelsea prediction is going to be for Robert Huth to be carded. He had a fantastic season as did all the Leicester City players on their way to the title but this season he hasn’t looked anywhere near as good as that. He seems to pick up bookings for fun and has picked up two bookings in his last four games so odds of 11/5 for Robert Huth to be carded completes my tips for this game and you can find those odds at Unibet.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Team News

Leicester have been hit hard by the African Cup of Nations and will be without Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani, Daniel Amartey and Jeffrey Schlupp for the next few weeks. They will be hoping that Jamie Vardy and Andy King have both recovered from illness which is what kept them out of the FA cup tie against Everton. As for Chelsea, they have no injury concerns ahead of this game but John Terry will be unable to take part as he serves a suspension following his red card against Peterborough last week.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Head to Head

In the reverse fixture earlier on in the season Chelsea were comfortable winners and won 3-0 thanks to goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Victor Moses and they also met in the EFL cup where Chelsea also won after extra time. As mentioned previously in this fixture last season Leicester City won 2-1 and this was down to a brilliant performance from Riyad Mahrez but they will need someone else to step up to the plate as the Algerian is away at the African Cup of Nations.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Betting Odds

Chelsea are best priced 4/6 for the win at Betfred and this could be worth putting in your accumulators. The draw is 3/1 at Bet Victor and a fantastic foxes victory is 9/2 at Betway. If you find Chelsea too short to win at odds on then if you back Chelsea to win at half time and full time then this is 13/8 at Coral.
