Just in time for a late Sunday giggle, PPT came across NationStates, which is a simulation. It advertises that:

NationStates is a nation simulation game. Create a nation according to your political ideals and care for its people. Or deliberately oppress them. It’s up to you.

Suthep will love this we are sure.

The Constitutional Monarchy of Kingdom of Thailand has just been created with the national slogan,  “Nation, Religion, King.” It is in the Category: Capitalist Paradise, with Civil Rights: Average; Economy: Thriving and Political Freedoms: Excellent. Here’s what is says about the country:

The Constitutional Monarchy of Kingdom of Thailand is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6 million are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it’s difficult to tell which.

The small, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 15%. A substantial private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Furniture Restoration.

Voting is voluntary and corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians. Crime is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Kingdom of Thailand’s national animal is the Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation’s many lush forests, and its currency is the Baht.

Kingdom of Thailand is ranked 10th in The Commonwealth of Kings and 68,290th in the world for Most Extensive Civil Rights, with 51 Martin Luther King, Jr. Units.

Must be hard having “excellent” political freedoms but ranking 68,290th in the world for Civil Rights…. Off for a frolic in the lush forests!
