Porto, Portugal - Following the recent announcement of the global launch of the new MTEX Blue with Pigment inks and inline heat fixation digital textile print solutions manufacturer MTEX announced an agreement with world-wide textile software specialists AVA CAD CAM to show their Digital Print Design & Colour Solutions working with the MTEX Blue Pigment printers at ITMA.

The MTEX Blue is positioned firmly in the digital textile pigment printing sector but can also be used as an accurate proofing device for industrial textile printing and is unique for its price : performance value proposition.  Working closely with Mimaki, their worldwide OEM partner, MTEX’s engineers have developed a patented inline heat polymerization system that ‘fixes’ the pigment dyes to the fabric, which traditionally has been a two-part process and is now, through MTEX technology, a one-pass process.

Heat fixation is an essential part of the pigment printing process, that either needs to be brought in-house with additional machinery, or outsourced, which takes time and money and results in loss of control of the final output and colour accuracy.

By bringing both processes together, MTEX have answered a problem that has faced the industry for many years in an all-in-one affordable digital pigment printing solution.

AVA specializes in the management of design and colour from initial conception through to digitally or conventionally printed final production for the fashion and decorative printing industries. With roots in the textile industry, AVA’s software provides the ideal front-end design and colouring prior to accurate, colour controlled, digital printing for sampling or production.

AVA’s software empowers designers to create innovative designs for textiles and décor as well as colour separations, colourways, mapping and accurate proofing for either digital or analogue printing.

By combining the all-in-one, affordable nature of the MTEX Blue with AVA’s powerful software and RIP, colour management and control is finally and firmly back where it belongs – in the textile print studio.

Duncan Ross, Director at AVA CAD CAM comments, “Software is a crucial element of digital printing. If you need to achieve the best colours, consistently, then everyone needs to consider the software they’re using. The AVA software is textile based and can be set up to work with many third party RIPs. However, for optimal results, many of our customers prefer to use the AVA Digital Print RIP which provides finer control of the colour gamut, better definition of the colour space, spot colour management, higher processing speed and accurate screen to print matching. We’re excited about showing AVA with the MTEX Blue at ITMA to demonstrate to visitors exactly what is achievable in digital textile print today, in an all-in-one solution.”

MTEX CEO Eloi Ferreira said: “We are very pleased with this new collaboration with one of the most respected design and colour management companies in the textile industry today. By collaborating with like-minded companies such as AVA, we are now reaching a new golden age of digital textile printing and delivering commercially viable, digital solutions to everyday textile print issues. We are in no doubt that visitors to their stand will be impressed with the whole package and they will delight in the vibrancy and accuracy of the colours achievable with their software.”
