North Carolina, United States - Several AATCC members will exhibit at this year’s ITMA, the quadrennial textile and garment technology exhibition that will take place November 12-19 at the Fiero Milano Rho exhibition center in Milan, Italy. About 1,500 exhibitors from 47 economies will participate in ITMA, one of the top 10 largest trade shows in the world.AATCC, the Association of Textile, Apparel and Material Professionals, provides test method development, quality control materials, education, and professional networking for a global audience.

Founded as the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), the Association continues to evolve to meet the needs of those in the ever-changing textile and materials industries. Today, the scope of AATCC reaches far beyond chemists and colorists. Members are employees of textile, apparel, and home goods manufacturers; dye and chemical manufacturers; testing laboratories; consumer and retail organizations; state and federal government agencies; and colleges and universities. AATCC has thousands of individual and corporate members in more than 60 countries worldwide. Workshops, conferences, and publications address topics ranging from product development to composite materials science.

AATCC is internationally recognized for its standard methods of testing fibers and fabrics to measure and evaluate such performance characteristics as colorfastness, appearance, soil release, dimensional change, and water resistance. New and updated test methods are published annually in the AATCC Technical Manual. Textile quality is our business!

Although the Association’s scope has broadened over the years, the objectives of AATCC remain the same as at the time of our founding: to increase knowledge, encourage research, and establish channels for the members to exchange professional information. AATCC brings this knowledge of textiles to the ITMA show.

At this year’s ITMA, the AATCC booth at Hall 7, Stand H102 has information about:

AATCC online training programs: AATCC offers a variety of online textile training opportunities for busy textile professionals—from webinars to online courses to training videos.

AATCC’s International Conference: the only textile conference that spans the breadth of the textile industry—three simultaneous tracks offer presentations of interest from retailers to material scientists, and everyone in between.

AATCC’s new Technical Manual: the newest test methods developed by our members!

AATCC’s new website: your information source about AATCC—redesigned to look good on both your desktop and mobile devices.

AATCC’s newest publication: Textile Coloration for the Retail Supply Chain by Dr. J. Richard Aspland and Ann C. Laidlaw, dyeing and color experts.
