Chocolate Truffles with Green Middles

Ingredients:

2 packs of chocolate chips (outside)
1 pack of chocolate chips (middle)
1/3 cup Whipping Cream
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
Wax Paper

Directions:

First we melted chocolate, vanilla and whipping cream together to make the centers. We decided to make the centers green for St. Patty’s Day, so we used white chocolate and green food coloring.

Once it was all melted together, we put the mixture on wax paper and put it in the freezer to harden before moving on.

After the mixture cooled, we rolled the centers into little balls (Molly gave me the hint that they need to be small because the truffle doubles in size when re-dipped into the chocolate coating! Good tip, my truffles would have been HUGE if she hadn’t told me!). We put the balls back into the freezer and began melting the outside chocolate layer (just chocolate, nothing added in this time) … and we dipped! We also added green/white drizzle on top once we were all done to make them a little more fancy!
