The book, Simply Calligraphy by Judy Detrick is just what I needed! Honestly, it's a book on Calligraphy, something that uses beautiful letters that just flow as you write them, gliding a pen across the page. It's so fancy and an excellent way to write for cards, letters, scrapbook pages, and so much more! I always wanted to learn how to do Calligraphy correctly, as I recently bought a kit with the pens and ink.

This book is packed with everything you need to know to get started, from the material you will use and how to actually use the pens and write on paper. It explains the letters, which you can use so many different font styles and designs that can be added to the object you are writing on. However, this is more of the beginner version and focuses on you getting the lettering correct by understanding the most simple forms. Nothing too difficult or complicated. Plus, It is a totally DIY type of skill and it's something that can make a normal list look better, a simple card will look beautiful, and even a note or page in a scrapbook look like a masterpiece!

The main reason I love this is that it uses a lovely technique that doesn't use computers to type it out, but my own hands. It is a DIY that requires you to write and enjoy your creative side. Even if you can't write very well, this book will help you and let you take anything you write on up a notch! With each simple step inside and plenty of practice, It will be easy to do Calligraphy anywhere.

Finally, this is such a beautiful book! Simple and so easy to understand. For a beginner, I find this to be a great book to begin reading.
