SSC CGL 2015 Notification-Cut-off-Syllabus and Analysis-Exam Pattern

Staff Selection Commission has notified the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2015. SSC will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2015 (Tier-I) on SUNDAY the 9th August, 2015 & 16th August, 2015 and if necessary, on subsequent Saturdays/Sundays, in different batches, for selecting candidates for Tier-II examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/Departments/ Organisations. Further details are as follows:

Important Dates

Opening Date for Online Registration: 02 May 2015

Closing Date for Online Registration: 28.05.2015 (5:00PM)

Date of Examination: 9th August, 2015 & 16th August, 2015

Essential Qualifications (as on 1st August, 2015)

i) Compiler : Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.

ii) Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level: OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

iii) All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Age Limit (as on 1st August, 2015):Age limit is different for each post. Please refer the official notification from below link for more details about age limit.

Scheme of the Examination: The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below-

Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Tier -II -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Tier -III -- Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test/Skill Test (wherever applicable)/Document Verification.

Please note: The Commission reserves the right to make changes in the scheme of examination such as conduct of Tier-I and Tier-II examination in on-line mode, treating Tier-I examination as only qualifying and not conducting personality test cum interview for some or all posts etc.

Application Fee:

--Rs. 100 (One hundred only)

All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee, as per extant government orders.

** For Paper or Off-Line Applications: Candidates should pay the fee by means of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) only.

** Applications On-line may pay the requisite fee through State Bank of India only either in the form of challan or on-line through SBI Net Banking. Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card.

How to apply for SSC CGL 2015

Important dates of SSC CGL 2015 exam

Notification Release Date - 02 May 2015.
Last date: 01 June 2015.

For those candidates who wants to know how to apply online for SSC CGL 2015. Here are all the steps.

How to apply online for SSC CGL 2015 Notification: -

Step 1: Go to http://ssconline.nic.in and select exam by clicking on click here (CGL 2015) under online form. It will be available on and after 14 March 2015.

Remember to fill both parts of your registration on any one server. If you have filled your part 1 registration on server 1 website, then you need to fill part 2 also on server 1. And if you have filled your registration on server 2 website, then you need to fill part 2 also on server 2.

Step 2: After that fill in all your exact details as per your documents. Take a note of your registration id.

Step 3: Take a print out of fee challan and pay the requisite fee in state bank of india.

Step 4: Now again go to SSC website on the server where you have applied and click on part II registration and fill in transaction no. given by the bank on fee challan and after that upload photo and signature and click submit.

Step 5: After you have done all this, a next screen will pop up telling you that you have applied for SSC CGL. All done. You have successfully applied for SSC CGL 2015.

Step 6; Also take a print out of application form by going to website and click on view/print and then follow the instructions. However you don’t have to send it.

Note: Only use internet explorer or opera browser as per SSC website compatibility. Google Chrome is not supported as per SSC website. So if you don’t want to face any problem in applying online, then use only one either internet explorer or opera browser.

If you don’t have confidence in how the application form to be filled, then go to your nearest cyber café and make it filled by professionals.

You can apply on any one server of SSC for CGL 2015. You need to fill both parts of your application on that same server.

SSC CGL SYLLABUS 2015 TIER 1

1. General Intelligence and Reasoning:
This section is based on Questions from  Series (number, figurative), similarities and differences, analogy, space visualization. Spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement. Decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation. Direction sense test, Blood relations, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification. Arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding. Statement conclusion, syllogism in reasoning etc. The topics are Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy. Figural Analogy, Ranking test, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification. Figural Classification, Input-Output questions, Problem Solving, Word Building, Seating arrangement, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations. Questions on Dies, Clock, Calender. Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams. Drawing inferences, folding & un-folding of Punched hole/pattern. Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching. Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers. Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification. Embedded Figures, Critical thinking. Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence etc.

2. English Language:

Through this section, a candidate's ability to understand and correct English etc. would be tested.
Questions on Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, Jumbled sentences (ordering), One word substitution. Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Common errors, sentence improvement, Passage, Cloze test are asked.

3. Quantitative Aptitude (Q.A.):
This section is based on questions on Percentages. Ratio & Proportion. Square and cube roots. Surds and indices. Lcm and hcf, Averages, Age problems. Simple interest and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership. Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Boat and Streams, Pipes and Cisterns. Numbers, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Heights and Distances.

Divisions and Remainders, decimals ,fractions and relationships between numbers. Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangles (centres, congruence, similarity), In circles and circum-circle. Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons. Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone. Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelopiped.

Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio. Degree and Radian Measures, Circle and its chords. tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle. common tangents to two or more circles, Standard Identities. Complementary angles, Heights and Distances. Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

4. General Awareness (G.A. Syllabus):

Tier 1 Syllabus of SSC CGL 2015 - General Awareness will have questions on current events, India and its neighbouring countries. Also questions from History. Geography, Economic Scene,Culture, General Policy & Scientific Research are asked. Scientific research includes physics, chemistry and Biology. Current affairs of Last 6 months are asked.

SSC CGL SYLLABUS 2015 Tier II

Paper-1 : Quantitative Ability :
The paper will have questions based on Number Systems. Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Ratio and Proportion. Allegation and Mixture, Average, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount. relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations. Percentage, , Use of Table and Graphs, charts, Time and Distance. Time and work, Trigonometry, Geometry, roots, lcm and hcf, surds and indices (most of the topics same as tier 1 but higher difficulty level).

Paper-2 : English Language & Comprehsion :

Complete syllabus of English is below:
Spot the error, questions on filling blanks, synonyms and antonyms, spelling error detection,  shuffling of sentence parts.  Comprehension passages, idioms & phrases, 1 word substitution. Sentence improvement, active & passive voices, Narration.

Paper-3 :
For Detailed Tier 2 PAPER 3 syllabus.
Statistics for Investigator Grade-II, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation & Compiler in RGI.

Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression. Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data, Measures of Central Tendency. Measures of Dispersion, Probability Theory, Time Series Analysis. Index Numbers, Random Variable and Probability Distributions. Sampling Theory, Analysis of Variance, Statistical Inference.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The questions in Paper 1 of exam will be of 10th class level, Paper-II of 10+2 level and Paper-III of graduation level.

SSC CGL SYLLABUS TIER III: PERSONALITY TEST/INTERVIEW

Marks for Interview cum Personality Test (except non-interview posts)- 100 marks.

Skill Test is conducted for tax assistant posts in Central Excise & Income Tax. CPT is conducted for Assistants in CSS.
Data Entry Speed Test (DEST): speed of data entry must be 8,000 Key Depression/hr. on Computer.
Data Entry Speed Skill Test at 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes will be tested and candidates will have to qualify it as it will be of qualifying nature.

NOTE: Tier-I examination is for screening the candidates for Tier-II examination for various papers. Marks of Tier 1 will be counted in final selection.

SSC CGL 2014 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL 2015 EXAM PATTERN TIER 1
It consists of 4 sections in a single paper. It is conducted for sorting out candidates.
Subject Name-Maximum Marks-Questions

All sections carry 50 marks and 50 questions. One mark for each right question and 0.25 negative marks to wrong answer(s). Total time given is 2 hours (40 minutes extra for VH candidates).

SSC CGL 2015 Tier II Exam Pattern:

it consist of 3 papers. Every candidate has to give two paper out of 3.

Paper 1. Arithmetical Ability (For All posts other than SI in CPOs). 100 questions are asked carrying 200 marks. 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Paper 2. English Language and comprehension test (All Posts). 200 questions are asked in this section carrying 200 marks. 0.25 marks for each wrong answer given by candidate.

Paper 3. Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics/ Commerce (for Compiler/ Statistical/ Investigators posts). It has 100 questions carrying 200 marks and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Time allowed for each paper is 2 hours.

The candidates can also join a coaching center for better preparation. That will help them in easily clearing the exam with better marks. Familiarity of Exam Pattern and knowledge of Syllabus is needed if you want to prepare well. It is very important for every candidate to have the syllabus of the exam for better preparation.
