The Third Online Conference of Armenian Students and Researchers in China was held on November 27 and 28, bringing together the Armenian scholarly community in the country in an effort to unite the scientific potential.

The annual traditional event is an attempt to build bridges between Chinese-Armenian scholars and students.

In his speech, the head of Armenian community, Mher Sahakyan (China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research), spoke of possible ways of using South Korea’s example for developing Armenia. Ruben Guini (Andin Foundation) introduced to the participants to the historical relics excavated in Gyumri, Armenia’s second largest city. Mikael Hayarapetyan (Tanjin Normal University), elaborated on the Secrets of Armenia project and other joint Chinese-Armenian initiatives aimed raising the knowledge of the Armenian classical music in the country. Anahit Parzyan proposed a plan for launching a united digital market in the Eurasian Economic Union.

Suren Abgaryan (Shanghai Jiao Tong University) stressed the importance of China’s membership in the World Trade Organization. Robert Tsaturyan (Renmin University) introduced the modern trends in the Chinese literature.

Different formats for a Chinese-Armenian dictionary were proposed by Mary Knyazyan a professor of  Beijing Foreign Studies University.

“The 21st century is for those who can excel others with knowledge. This forum is yet another attempt to unite the Armenian thought in China for the benefit of the Fatherland,” Sahakyan said in a closing remark.
