Shirdi Sai Baba temple is located at Shirdi nagar Panchayat, Rahata sub-division, Ahmednagar District, state of Maharashtra, India.
Lord Shirdi Sai Baba, was an Indian spiritual master and regarded by His devotees as a saint, fakir (a Muslim Sufi ascetic) and satguru, and was worshipped according to the devotees individual proclivities and beliefs, this feature signifies He was revered by both Hindu and Muslim devotees.
The best movement of Lord Shirdi Sai Baba was said started in the 19th century, while He was living in Shirdi.
He taught the devotees, a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and guru, and was admired by many people around the world.
Mhalsapati Nagre, a local Khandoba priest, was believed to be the first devotee of Lord Shirdi Sai baba.
The teaching of Lord Sai Baba combined the elements of Hinduism and Islam. It is well manifested in the act that, He gave the Hindu name Dwarakamayi to the mosque He lived in, practised Muslim rituals, taught using words and figures that drew from both traditions, and was finally buried in Shirdi.
The research and indications says that Lord Sai Baba met many saints and fakirs, and worked as a weaver.
And it is believed that Lord Sai Baba stayed at Shirdi for three years and left the place for a year, and again returned to Shirdi by 1958 and stayed permanently.
Specialty
One of His well-known epigrams, “Sabka Malik Ek” (“One God governs all”), is related to Hinduism, Islam and Sufism.
He also said, “Trust in me and your prayer shall be answered”. And He always uttered “Allah Malik” (“God is King”).
In the year 1910, Lord Sai Baba became popular in Mumbai and a lot of people started visiting Lord Sai Baba. The first temple for Lord Sai Baba was built at Bhivpuri, Karjat.
He adopted His own style of dressing consisting of a knee-length one-piece caftan robe and a cloth cap.
He was impressed by the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita and encouraged the devotees to follow it in their own lives.
He advised His devotees to lead a moral life, help others, and love every living being without any prejudice.
Lord Sai Baba was an adversary of religious orthodoxy such as Christian, Hindu and Muslim. He was convicted to lead the life of an ascetic, and also advised His devotees to lead an ordinary family life.

No harm shall befall him, who steps on the soil of Shirdi.
He who comes to my Samadhi, his sorrow and suffering shall cease.

The nearest railway station is at Shirdi. Regular trains are available to Chennai, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam via Secunderabad, Mysore and other cities/states. The other nearest railway stations are Manmad railway station (87 km), Ahmednagar railway station (83 km) from Shirdi, Daund railway station (170 km) from Shirdi.
By Road
Shirdi can be reached by bus from Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik, Akluj, Dhule, Nagpur and Aurangabad.
