The Censor board officials has praised and hugged actress Charmee Kaur after watching her forthcoming romantic movie “Jyothi Lakshmi” under the direction of Puri Jagannath. The censor board especially woman members appreciated Charmee Kaur and also entire team of Jyothi Lakshmi. Charmee Kaur in her tweeter a social networking site said “Am so happy Censor people just loved n enjoyed#Jyothi Lakshmi, Especially ladies hugged me”. The movie was given U/A certificate and it is going to hit the theaters on June 12th. The film is produced by C.Kalyan and music is composed by Sunil Kashyap.

Charmi Kaur (also spelt as Charmee or Charmy) is an Indian film actress, who has predominantly appeared in Telugu films as well as few films in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. She acted with stars such as Dileep, Mammootty, Amitabh Bachchan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Jr. NTR, Prabhas, Siddarth, Ravi Teja, Sumanth, Nitin and Silambarasan. Charmi gave her voice to Kajal Aggarwal in the film Chandamama (2007).
Educational Life:
Charmy was born in Mumbai and her family is of Punjabi-Sikh background. She studied in Carmelite Convent English High School in Vasai.
Career and film industry:
In 2006 she acted in Pournami which was a total failure in spite of high expectations, but her performance was appreciated. Though she did not learn Indian classical dance, her Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dances in the film were appreciated by audiences. Later that year she was paired for the second time with Sumanth in Chinnodu but it was not a successful venture. Her next film, Rakhi (with NTR), was a hit. In 2007 Mantra, a thriller with Charmy in the lead role, was declared as a surprise hit. Her performance in the film was appreciated and fetched her the Nandi Award for Best Actress of 2007.
Then, she starred in several lady oriented roles, including Anukokunda Oka Roju, Mantra, Manorama 2009, Kavya’s Diary, Sye Aata, Mangala in Telugu and Laadam in Tamil, out of which Anukokunda Oka Roju and Mantra were very successful.
In 2011, she got a chance to work in Bollywood in the film Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap starring Amitabh Bachchan. She had a supporting role in the film, which performed averagely in the box office. In 2012, she mostly did special songs in high budget films like Dhamarukam, Naayak and Yaare Koogadali. She appeared in two more Bollywood films, Zila Ghaziabad and R… Rajkumar. She starred in two female-oriented Telugu films, Prema Oka Maikam, directed by Chandu of 10th class fame, in which she played a call girl character in the film and Pratighatana in which she played a journalist. Pratighatana was Charmy’s 50th film. Her Current project Jyothy Lakshmi is a female-centric film written and directed by Puri Jagannadh.
