For a man who doesn’t appear once on screen, Stiles Stilinski is present in every scene, moment, and thought.

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 2 “Superposition” is full of echoes of someone that the McCall pack has lost. Like a phantom limb they know that someone important, brilliant, and deep-seated in their life, has been taken away from them.

Each pack member can feel Stiles absence in their lives.

Lydia spends every waking moment reaching out for something beyond her reach. She doesn’t know who it is but she knows that this person is so important to her, to all of them, that she needs to get him back.

Her admittance that she thinks she loved this mystery man speaks volumes. The Ghost Riders, these powerful and mysterious creatures, managed to wipe their memories of a pack member with a snap of their whip.

Even then, they couldn’t take away the love that Lydia Martin feels for Stiles. It’s a love that’s blossomed throughout the seasons and his final words to her are probably echoing right beneath the surface, pushing her to find him.

The same thing can be said for Scott, but on a different wavelength. Lydia feels for Stiles like a lover would. Scott is missing his brother, his pack second, and BFF.

Throughout this episode, Scott looks at events in his life and knows that things are missing. There are holes in his memories and he recognizes that logically he wouldn’t be in those woods by himself and risk an asthma attack.

Scott misses his 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bones, whose only weapon is sarcasm, even though he doesn’t remember him. Not to take away from the love that Lydia feels for Stiles, but this is love of the highest caliber.

Malia is the only one having a real visceral reaction to Stiles disappearance. She loves Stiles in a different, more instinctual way, that comes from being a coyote for so long.

Stiles taught Malia how to be human, how to live in this world, how to love, how to survive. She feels lost without her friend as her anchor to her human life.

All of these people together prove that love is a weapon of unchecked power and resilience. It can defeat the most fierce of foes and give you the strength to carry on when everyone tells you that there’s nothing wrong or that you’re imagining things are missing.

Scott, Lydia, and Malia are following their instincts, that love they feel, and not letting it fade away. They know what the supernatural feels like and this has weird written all over it.

The Ghost Riders don’t know what they have started or how far this pack is willing to go for their pack member, their brother, their friend, and for special person in the future *cough* Lydia *cough*, their lover. Their hunt is coming to an end in the form of a true alpha, a banshee, and coyote.

And imagine when Sheriff Stilinski finally remembers/recognizes that his lanky, mole riddled, trouble maker of a son, is gone? There’s no force in this world that can stop that man or the epic hug waiting for us when he finds Stiles.

Additional Thoughts:

Liam’s BFF senses were tingling when Mason was scared. That will come back and help them in the future for sure

Captain Finstock doesn’t care if you’re straight, gay, or a werewolf. He wants you out of his big hair and causing trouble somewhere else.

How is Claudia back in the Sheriff’s life? How did Stiles disappearance affect her illness? What will she do when she remembers? Will the Stilinski’s lose her again? Is she actually Claudia?

Names hold power. Stiles is not his real name. What if “mischief” is a clue alluding to Stiles real name? That could be a way to find him.

Malia marked everything in her textbook yellow, for all the things she was working on, and red for something she had no clue about. That red thing being the word “style.”

Favorite Moment from Superposition:

Lydia asking “What the hell is a Stiles?” is a throw back to Season 1 Episode 5 of Teen Wolf. Now that they have his name, there’s no way the Ghost Riders can stop them now!
