MUMBAI: Colors has dethroned Star Plus from the top spot on the Hindi GEC ladder.

As per BARC ratings for Week 5 for urban + rural Hindi-speaking market (HSM), Colors raced ahead of Star Plus as the latter lost 6.92% weekly impressions. On the other hand, a modest growth of 0.52% impressions helped Colors go past its rival.

Rishtey plunged to the fifth position, thereby allowing Zee TV to grab the third position.

Star Utsav stood at the fourth position. Sony Entertainment Television (SET) fell to the sixth position. DD National jumped to the seventh position. Sony Pal exited while SAB TV entered the top 10 table.



Top 5 programs in Urban+Rural HSM

Cricket continued to rule the roost in the top 5 with the first slots being occupied by the third and second T20 matches between India and England.

Bearing the brunt of cricket, ‘Naagin 2’ was further pushed to the third spot. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ also featured in the top 5 programmes.


Top Hindi GECs in Urban HSM

Colors outmanoeuvred Star Plus in urban HSM also. Star Plus was trailing Colors closely at the second spot. The rest of the positions remained unchanged.


Top programs in Urban HSM

In urban HSM, ‘Naagin 2’ retained its position as the most-watched show.

‘Bigg Boss 10’ ended on a high note with the penultimate episodes notching 6.1 million impressions. ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ re-entered the top 5 by pushing ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ out of the table.

Top Hindi GECs in Rural HSM

Star Utsav pipped Rishtey to become the No. 1 GEC in rural HSM. Rishtey moved to the second position despite the presence of ‘Naagin 2’.

Zee TV replaced Star Plus at the seventh position while the latter fell to the eighth position. Big Magic pushed SET out of the top 10 to grab the 10th position.

Top programs in Rural HSM

The T20 matches ruled the roost in rural HSM as well. The third and second T20 matches rated 11.79 and 11.69 million impressions respectively.

‘Naagin 2’ on Rishtey skid to the third spot, followed by ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.
