One of the coolest things about traveling in an RV is that you have the open road in front of you, and you’re free to go wherever you like. It’s a permanent road trip when you’re retired. Even when you’re not, it’s one of the most exciting adventures you can undertake. But it’s not the kind of excitement that leaves you permanently stimulated.

When you’re driving down a long stretch of road with no real scenery around you, and you’re a passenger, you might get bored. Time for a little T.V. Wait – you can’t watch T.V. while you’re moving, right? Hold on a second. You can.

In-Motion RV Satellite

Wow – this is one of the most amazing inventions for RVs. With an in-motion satellite, you can actually watch satellite-quality TV while you’re on the road. These systems acquire a signal even when you’re moving so that your family can watch T.V. while zooming down the interstate.

Make sure your satellite offers digital video broadcasting (DVB) signal acquisition. This will give you the best results and it’s also compatible with all of the major satellite networks like DIRECTV and DISH. You’ll also need an in-motion RV satellite that uses standard network receivers so you don’t have to buy a new receiver for your unit.

Getting An RV TV

OK, time to assess your current TV. If you’re got an older set, it might not be compatible with the in-motion satellites available today. If the T.V. isn’t a digital one, or isn’t digitally upgraded, you might have to buy a new TV. Alternatively, you might be able to get away with buying a converter for your TV – either way, you must have a setup that’s compatible with FCC guidelines and receives a digital signal.

RV Today TV

So you’re on the road, watching TV, and something happens. What do you do? Well, you’ve got the option of tuning in to RV TV shows. RV TV always includes maintenance tips, ideas from other RVers, and even ideas for travel. You can even write in to the show to ask specific questions, so plan out your trip in advance and write in – maybe your question will be answered while you’re on the road.

The Satellite Dish

Before you install-direct-tv.com or some other service provider, make sure you buy a good dish. If you don’t already have an RV satellite dish, this is something you’re going to want to spend some time researching. You can buy adapters for old dishes, but you’ll have to feed it manually which can be a pain. Another possibility is to buy a separate dish for mobile TV. That’s a lot of dishes just to be entertained.Similar Posts:
