The Telangana State Swachh Hyderabad – Swachh Telangana programe getting huge response.  Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao apart, several VVIPs participated in Swachh Hyderabad in divisions assigned to them on day one of the programme. They interacted with locals to enquire about civic conditions in their respective areas.

Mr. Narasimhan, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, local BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Somesh Kumar saw for themselves garbage piled up in a dustbin at Anandnagar near Khairatabad. The Governor made enquiries about the uncleared garbage.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao carried a couple of head loads of litter to a waiting van in Parsigutta while Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali participated in the programme at Azampura near Chaderghat.

Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary administered an oath to residents that they would keep their surroundings clean at Nimboliadda. BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy was also present.

Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma wielded the broom attached to a long stick and collected debris in a container at B.S. Maktha near Raj Bhavan. Director General of Police Anurag Sharma motivated police and officials of other departments to participate in the sanitation drive at Kailasnagar.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao took part in the programme at MBT Nagar in Banjara Hills. Tribal Welfare Minister A. Chandulal was present at Chandrayangutta in old city while Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav participated at Sanatnagar, Power Minister G. Jagadish Reddy at Mansurabad near L.B. Nagar and Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy at Ring Basti of Jagadgirigutta.

Forest Minister and Special Chief Secretary (Finance) K. Pradeep Chandra took a look at the poor civic amenities at Road No. 10, Banjara Hills.
