Watch Dogs becomes the fastest selling game for Ubisoft

The announcement certainly confirms that Watch Dogs has surpassed the sales record of the company’s earlier popular titles, including Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed series. The gameplay set in Chicago and hacker Aiden Pearce as the main character can be considered among the major pros behind the success.

On announcing the success of Watch Dogs in the first 24 hours after its release, Ubisoft’s co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot said:

“Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off. It’s great to see so many customers enjoy playing the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”

Watch Dogs being in development for over five years and finally reached stores on May 27. The game is based on Disrupt game engine to give enhanced graphics across Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.

Gamers are required to use their skills throughout the gameplay to hack into Chicago’s Central Operation System (ctOS) turn the entire city into a weapon or tool.

Ubisoft’s creative director Jonathan Morin worked with Russian anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab to develop Watch Dogs. The game is set to compete other open-style games available in the currently market which include Rockstar Games developed Grand Theft Auto series.
