Twitter, in a move towards becoming public, has brought up new changes within its Twitter app for Android and iOS. The new update previews photo and video contents right in the timeline and users can also watch short-length Vine videos from their timeline, even without tapping on the link. The new changes are also available on Twitter.com.

Twitter adds photo and video previews in timeline

With the new change, Twitter users will able to take a look at the photos and videos shared in their timelines. The update provides in-line preview of photos and videos which makes tweets as rich tweets. As Vine is also a part of Twitter offerings, users will also be able to watch videos on their timeline which are shared from Vine. While photos will be available as in-line preview, users can watch shared videos on their timeline by tapping on the thumbnail of video contents. There is also an option to switch off the previews in Settings menu.

Commenting on the addition of rich tweets, Michael Sippey, Twitter’s vice president of product said;

“So many of the great moments you share on Twitter are made even better with photos or with videos from Vine. These rich Tweets can bring your followers closer to what’s happening, and make them feel like they are right there with you.”

Apart from photos and videos preview, Twitter also added new buttons for reply, retweet or favorite a Tweet within each tweet in timeline which requires a single tap.

The update is now available within Twitter for Android, iOS and web. Users can experience the new changes by downloading the latest app through respective app stores or by visiting Twitter website.
