Founded by the former Oppo vice president, OnePlus has unveiled its awaited One smartphone today. OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch 1080p (full-HD) display. The company claims that it has the lightest weight among other 5.5-inch smartphones and magnesium build.

OnePlus One has a 5.5-inch JDI display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 CPU and 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. There are two storage options – 16GB and 64GB – but no microSD card support.

On the imaging side, the smartphone has a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 sensor on the rear with 6 lenses and f/2.0 aperture. The camera is capable of taking still shots as well as recording 4K (Ultra-HD) videos. A front-facing camera is also available for taking selfies and VoIP support.

The smartphone has a decent list of connectivity options which includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, NFC and a microUSB port. The company has also provided 4G LTE support for faster voice and data connectivity which supports several frequency bands for the developed markets.

To give the feel of Motorola Moto X, the One smartphone has optional StyleSwap covers which come in bamboo, wood, denim and kevlar materials. The 3100mAh Li-Po battery pack is not removable but users can remove the rear cover to customise the back according their preferences. For enhanced multimedia experience, the smartphone features JBL stereophonic speakers on its bottom.

The smartphone runs on CyanogenMod 11S ROM, which is originally based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, out of the box. Some tweaks are also available on the custom ROM to provide easier experience than the stock ROM.

In the initial stage, OnePlus One coming to Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK and the USA. While the 16GB OnePlus One variant will be available for with a price tag of $299, the 64GB variant will reach stores for $350.
