Everyone is expecting that Apple’s upcoming MacBook Pro 2017 models will feature higher hardware performance ratings. In fact, the whole internet is buzzing with rumors which hint that Apple’s devices will actually use Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors. Well, it looks like these rumors maybe proven true.

The Cupertino based tech giant recently rolled out its macOS 10.12.4 beta and tech savvy Apple fans were able to find information about Intel’s Kaby Lake processors. Reports are showing that the new operating system includes three motherboard identifiers that are not associated with any of the already existing MacBook Pro models.

These new motherboard identifiers use a similar processing power management data that’s used by the 13 inch and 15 inch MacBook Pro models. Worth mentioning is that this is the first time these files have been spotted. The previous macOS version didn’t include any new motherboard identifiers. It would make sense for Apple to use Intel’s latest processors since the 2016 MacBook Pros use Intel’s previous Sky Lake chipsets.

Although Apple might equip the devices with new processors, the performance won’t be significantly changed. There aren’t that many differences between Intel’s Sky Lake and Kaby Lake chipsets. The addition of these new processors will only be a minor enhancement. It’s still better than nothing nonetheless.

As previously mentioned, the new identifiers can be found in macOS 10.12.4 beta. The first one has been listed as “MAC-B483CEDB52A0C4C”. This identifier seems to be the one for the 13 inch models which will feature function keys. Additionally, the 13 inch models might have a boosted clocking speed of 4000MHz if they use Intel’s Kaby Lake chipset.

The second identifier is known as “MAC-CAD6701F7CEA0921”. This one is used for the premium 13 inch MacBook Pros that feature Apple’s new Touch Bar. The clocking speed will be smaller on this devices, 3,700 MHz to be more exact.

The last one is “MAC-551B86E5744E2388” and it’s used for the bigger 15 inch MacBook Pro models. These models will also be equipped with Apple’s Touch Bar but will be clocked at a higher boost speed of 4,100 MHz. It looks like Apple is heading in the right direction with these new chipsets. We can expect Apple to unveil additional information during the upcoming future.
