The Gear 360 camera is a beauty to behold, but the hardware packed into this futuristic globe may be even more exciting. Samsung is finally offering a look inside the impressive little device.

Samsung designed the Gear 360 to feel comfortable in your hand. It’s durable and compact with tough tempered glass to protect the cameras. The design also includes a front bracket to hold everything in place and a rear bracket that houses the microphone, speaker, and a universal tripod mount. As for the cameras, Samsung included a pair of CMOS 15-megapixel fisheye lenses. Each camera has a 195-degree field of view. Combined, that easily covers the full 360 degrees, with special software instantly stitching them together.

Digging a little deeper, you’ll find a special copper plate used to keep the Gear 360 from overheating. There’s also the mainboard, which holds the CPU and image processor. Finally, Samsung included a microSD slot with a 200GB capacity and a battery chamber big enough to hold a 1350mAh power pack.

That’s a lot of technology to pack into such a small space, but Samsung pulled it off without sacrificing on design. The Gear 360 is already available in South Korea and Singapore, but it should launch in the U.S. and around the world soon for around $350.
