The National Identity Card (for Nigerians) reregistration is still on and many Nigerians are not aware of the on going exercise especially those at the 'remote' part of the country.
The registration of National ID card is ongoing under the national body called National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). This ID is mandatory to adult Nigerians and it's been requested by Official bodies and transactions like Nigerian Banks.
The process of the registration is a bit long but NIMC has make it slightly easy by slitting the process into 2

* Registration Process
This thread is going to point out the basic steps of pre-registering your Id card from home with either your Internet enabled computer or smart phone.
Please Note:
* Most forms are to be filled on the pre-registeration process which involves alot of questions. Finger prints capture and capture and passport are to be carried out in NIMC office which are mainly located in the local government headquarters all over Nigeria.
* while filling the preregistration form, make sure you answer the questions correctly, the part marked with red asterisks (*)are mandatory while others are optional.

If you happens to pre-register your information from non approve NIMC staff, probably brokes looking for quick bucks, make sure you don't give them security informations like your ATM card Pin Codes, Bank Login Passwors, E-mail Address Password, Phone Pin Code or PUK Codes. NIMC will NEVER, I repeat NEVER request for such security sensitive informations.
Pre-Registeration Process
The Offiial website of NIMC is http://www.nimc.gov.ng/, the pre-registration portal is http://penrol.nimc.gov.ng/.
1. Visit the pre-registeration portal @ http://penrol.nimc.gov.ng/.
2. The first process of the registration is to create login account which includes
* Username, *Password, * Phone Number and *E-mail Address.
3. Login with the Username and Password you registered with to start filling the pre-registeration forms.
Please answer all the questions correctly, don't rush through it, take your time and answer all the questions.
The part marked with the red asterisks (*) are mandatory ie you are required to fill it, don't jumpit as you will get error if any of them is not filled.
4. On complete of the pre-registeration process, you will be redirected to QR Code which you should print out and take it NIMC office to capture your finger prints and Photographs in the final stage of the registration.
