#NikCollection #Alphabet – Google makes photography tools worth $149 available for free : New Delhi: Google has good news for skilled photographers. The cost of its Nik Collection – a set of seven desktop plug-ins – will now be free, reports The Verge. Prior to the news, the plug-ins retailed for $149. However, before Google bought German company Nik for its mobile editing app Snapseed, the plug-ins previously cost $499.95.

Included in the pack are Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro, Viveza, HDR Efex Pro, Sharpener Pro, and Dfine, which can be used with Photoshop, Aperture and Lightroom. “Photo enthusiasts all over the world use the Nik Collection to get the best out of their images every day.

As we continue to focus our long-term investments in building incredible photo editing tools for mobile, including Google Photos and Snapseed, we’ve decided to make the Nik Collection desktop suite available for free, so that now anyone can use it,” said Google in a post. For customers who purchased the plug-ins in 2016 for $149, Google will automatically refund the price.

The Nik Collection is comprised of seven desktop plug-ins that provide a range of photo editing capabilities – from filter applications that improve colour correction, to retouching and creative effects, to image sharpening that brings out all the hidden details, to the ability to make adjustments to the colour and tonality of images.
