Vodafone India has announced special tariff vouchers (STV) to allow its pre-paid as well as post-paid customers to enjoy free incoming while on national roaming. Just like Airtel’s pre-paid subscribers, even Vodafone’s pre-paid users can now choose between a daily plan for Rs 5 per day, and the monthly plans for Rs 71 per month to avail free incoming on national roaming. Those on post-paid subscriptions can opt for the Rs 75 plan to avail the offer. Also, the operators had cut the outgoing call charges on national roaming to Rs 1.5 per second. Vodafone users can activate the daily plan by dialing *444*500#.

This apart, the operator has also launched two other tariff-based plans for both pre-paid and post-paid customers who are on roaming. The two plans namely – the Roaming Tariff Plan (RTP) and Roaming Tariff Plan Free (RTP FR), offer reduced incoming roaming tariff and free incoming roaming benefits respectively. They are applicable for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers. The free roaming tariff plans for pre-paid customers is available for prices starting from Rs 196, however, prices vary by state. Those on post-paid can avail the offer for Rs 149. Additionally, just like Idea, Vodafone has also reduced the SMS charges on national roaming by up to 33 percent.

The government had ordered all operators to offer discounted tariffs to the customers on national roaming, with effect from July 1. Bharti Airtel was the first to start offering rebate on national roaming tariffs and was soon followed by Idea. Vodafone is the third operator to join in.
