The latest promo image further discloses more details about the Vivo X9 and the Vivo X9 Plus.

Vivo is all set to launch its new smartphones the X9 and X9 Plus on November 17 in Beijing, China. The company has already confirmed the date, and has also released some promotional images on its official Weibo account. Going by one of its recent teasers, Vivo is also joining the latest trend of dual-camera phones with the X9 series. Vivo takes a different turn as the X9 series will flaunt the pair of 20-megapixels and 8-megapixels camera on the front. A new promo image has surfaced online which confirms some of the X9 series’ key specifications.

As spotted by Android Headlines, the promo image reveals key specifications of the Vivo X9 and the Vivo X9 Plus as well. It also reveals what the Vivo X9 smartphone will look like. To begin with, the Vivo X9 will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display. Under its hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU will run. The smartphone will come with 4GB of RAM and onboard storage of 64GB. For power, the Vivo X9 will use a 3,050mAh battery.

As for the Vivo X9 Plus, it will feature a bigger 5.8-inch full HD display. Just like the X9, the X9 Plus will also come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU. The smartphone will come with a bigger RAM at 6GB but the same internal storage of 64GB. Vivo X9 plus will sport the same pair of 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras on the front. Rumors further suggest that the Vivo X9 Plus will be equipped with dual cameras on the rear end as well.

In terms of what the Vivo X9 looks like, the image shows the Vivo X9 clad in a full metal with the home button of the smartphone placed below the display, which is also expected to double as a fingerprint scanner. Two antenna bands run along the top and bottom part of the smartphone, which is highly similar to the iPhone 7. The image also shows a very thin bezel, which has been rumored to be just 1.59mm thin. Its previous promo images showed the Vivo X9 sporting a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and the speaker grille on the bottom edge of the smartphone. The Vivo X9 has also been rumored to come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Vivo X9 is now the second smartphone to come with dual cameras on the front. The Lenovo Vibe S1 which was launched last year sports a pair of 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras on the front. However, Vivo X9’s pair of 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel front cameras is expected to be more powerful. Although the camera features have not been revealed as yet, there have been speculations around it. The front cameras on the Vivo X9 are expected to work together to capture depth of field images. The 20-megapixel sensor would essentially capture the details and the 8-megapixel sensor would obtain the depth information resulting in DSLR-like bokeh images. On the rear end, the smartphone is expected to sport a single camera lens of 16-megapixel.

There has been no word on whether Vivo would launch the X9 and X9 Plus in global markets including India. The company is launching a selfie-centric smartphone in India on November 15. Vivo will launch the Vivo V5 smartphone, whose main highlight would be its 20-megapixel front camera with a soft light LED flash. The Vivo V5 would go head to head with the selfie-centric smartphone front runners in the market like the Oppo F1s and the Gionee S6s.
