HTC launches mid-range Desire 10 Lifestyle smartphone with dual SIM and 4G LTE support in India. Priced at Rs 15,990, HTC's new smartphone will compete against the likes of OPPO F1, Moto G4 Plus, Samsung Galaxy On8 smartphones.
After a global launch last week, HTC has brought the Desire 10 Lifestyle smartphone to India. Priced at Rs 15,990, the smartphone is mid-range but features a premium design. The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will go on sale in India beginning September 30, and will be available exclusively on Amazon India and HTC e-store. One of the highlights of HTC’s smartphone is the support for 24-bit Hi-Res audio, Dolby-enhanced BoomSound speakers. The device will be available in Stone Black and Polar White colors.
The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle features a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) Super LCD display. Under the hood, is a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, along with 3GB of RAM. It is a tad baffling that HTC has opted for a rather outdated Snapdragon 400 processor. It features an internal storage of 32GB, which is expandable to up to 2TB using a microSD card. On the photography front, the smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The Desire 10 Lifestyle is fuelled by a 2,700mAh battery. For connectivity, it features options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow wrapped under the Sense UI.
At this price range, HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will compete against the likes of the OPPO F1, Moto G4 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy On8 to name a few. The OPPO F1 flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass and protected by Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, there is 16GB internal memory, which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. On the photography front, the OPPO F1 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone also features a 2,5000mAh battery.
The Moto G4 Plus smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core 1.5GHz processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera with OmniVision Sensor, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower support. The Samsung Galaxy On8 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) AMOLED display, and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB onboard storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the photography front, the Samsung Galaxy On8 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery, and its connectivity options like dual-SIM support, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Even Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 offers specs that are on par (if not better) than HTC’s smartphone, but is priced at Rs 11,999. It just begs the question of why would a buyer choose HTC’s new smartphone over the other devices available in and around this range.
