Enterprises are playing catch up with smaller and much nimbler entrepreneurial startups who early on have taken advantage of mobile for business app customization platforms for communications and other processes like Mulesoft, Google, Dropbox, 2600HZ, Plivo and more. A Hewlett Packard Enterprise company Aruba’s Aruba Mobile First Platform will offer a complete package by the end of year 2016, and customers will be able to mix any of six Aruba products with special APIs. These application program interfaces work to assist remote and mobile employees to be more efficient and to increase automation where needed most.
Aruba’s mobile series of products are powered by the mobile first platform. What will be new about them? Aruba’s operating system 8.0 will operate like a virtual machine. Expensive, dedicated hardware is not required. The ClearPass security component will pair with the new API library to welcome 3rd party apps to be integrated, a popular feature among many of Hewlett Packard’s rival companies. Aruba Central will manage even the functionality of the 3rd party apps with, for example, a robust set of network analytics tools.
The Mobile First Platform will even be able to onboard Internet of Things devices, another hot mobile trend of 2016 and forward. The IoT devices will be on a highly secure network that is situated outside of the business users’ wireless network.
Aruba rolls out mobile first platform for enterprises.
All of the above are just some of the exciting features of Aruba Mobile First Platform. The sales line will be directly to enterprises via one time purchase OR through channels such as from Accenture, Deloitte and even AT&T via a subscription service. The latter will target small to medium size organizations.
The price might be a little out of reach for most small businesses with Aruba OS 8 virtual mobility controller beginning fee of $6,795 for installations for 50 and 1,000 APs to start.
