The first ever RX 480 gaming benchmarks are finally here. We can now see how well people calculated and predicted the performance of the RX 480 GPU by AMD. Keep in mind that this GPU is extremely inexpensive according to the new AMD strategy of providing budget gamers with great gaming experiences. Here are the real world RX 480 gaming benchmarks.

AMD Radeon RX 480 Gaming Benchmarks

Three popular titles have been used for this benchmarking test Metro Last Light: Redux, Witcher 3 and World of Tanks. All three are different games with the World of Tanks being the least graphics intensive and the Witcher 3 being the most demanding of the lot. The setting for the RX 480 gaming benchmarks range from medium to very high. The RX 480 is also being compared against the R9 380X as well as the  Zotac GTX 970.

Here we see all three games running over all three graphics cards at the same setting and we can see the difference in FPS straight away. It should be noted that besides the RX 480 both cards are highly tweaked and overclocked. If the RX 480 was overclocked too then maybe it would not give way to the other cards in these RX 480 gaming benchmarks.

In Metro, the RX 480 stays at par with the GTX 970 at 1080p and with increase in resolution it does fall behind by only a little bit. In Witcher 3 we have a similar story with the RX 480, slightly behind the GTX 970 and with increased resolution this difference decreases. With the World of Tanks the RX 480 performs close to the other cards. There is not a very big difference here.

Only a day left in the launch of the RX 480 and these RX 480 gaming benchmarks will give you a  better idea of the real-world performance of the new AMD GPU. If you still are not convinced then we have some more leaked benchmarks for you to take a look at while you make you choice regarding your next GPU.

If the RX 480 is not the GPU for you then AMD will be releasing their RX 470 and RX 460 GPUs. Those could be something you might be interested in as well.
