Of course you will get a Lord of The Rings reference. In case you have not noticed, the site’s name is a reference to a certain species of the J.R.R. Tolkien lore. But that is not the point, the point is the keyboard – Logitech K780 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard. Sure, there have been Multi-Device Wireless Keyboards from Logitech before. But those focus plenty on portability and mobility; shrinking the size of the keyboard. The K780 is different though.
The K780 is made, and designed for your home. Weighing at about 875g it is not what you would call light. In fact it weighs heavier than a nearly unwieldy Apple iPad Pro or a barely manageable Microsoft Surface Pro 4. So not something that you would want to lug around if you already have your laptop. It is not what you call small either with its extended proportions of 380mm full width (or length depending on how you see it). That is actually quite a bit wider than both the 12-inch Apple iPad Pro and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 horizontally. It is even wider than a Lenovo Y700 actually. But the length weight is justified by the fact that it is a full keyboard. Not the half keyboard like the Logitech K380 or K480.
So other than getting a full 10-key pad on the right side of the keyboard, you get something called the Logitech Unifying USB receiver at the battery encasing. You can even choose not to use the receiver included if you so fancy. It will connect with any Bluetooth device including your smartphones, tablets, and notebook PCs. The best part of this keyboard, in fact Logitech’s line of Multi-Device Wireless keyboards is that you can connect up to three devices and switch between your devices by pressing the one of the three Easy-Switch buttons. No more re-configuring your wireless keyboard on each device, or buying different keyboard for each device. This is actually the one keyboard that will connect to all your device.
The round island keys on the keyboard is designed for comforts and precision for those long emails you need to type. Its large keys are designed to be quiet as well. The keyboard also has a rubber mobile device cradle that runs along the top part of the keyboard’s width. The keyboard has a power-saving idle mode as well to extend its battery life up to 24-months.
