It introduced two new computing solutions for industry professionals. The first is what is known as a mobile workstation; the ThinkPad P40 Yoga. Alongside the ThinkPad P40 Yoga, Lenovo also introduced the ThinkStation 410 Workstation. Both these computing solutions are designed to handle multiple software that are used especially by architects, product designers, UI designers, and engineers. Of course, high-performance is the keyword here when it comes to these guys. Applications like Autodesk’s AUTOCAD and other 3D applications would also come to mind when you mention engineerign works, product designing, and architecture. Autodesk applications are some of the processor intensive programs out in the market. Rightfully so to accommodate the high demands of the ever evolving world in this hi-tech era.
The first of the professional grade solution then is a mobile workstation – the ThinkPad P40 Yoga. What is it? It is Lenovo’s iteration of what a hybrid device should be like in a professional creative environment. It can be used in laptop, stand, tent, and tablet configuration. The flexibility of it makes it ideal for engineers who are working on big things but always on the go. It has a pen attached to it too to give it sketching capabilities. To keep up with the heavy processing also you get up to 128GB of RAM out of this solution. You do not get an NVIDIA GeForce with this anymore, instead you will find an NVIDIA Quadro up to the M5000 in the belly of this beast. You have to keep in mind this is not a gaming PC, instead this is a proper workstation for engineers, digital designers, and architects. It is, as mentioned fully customisable and tailored according to needs. This particular workstation is also certified by Autodesk to run their 3D software for manufacturing, building and construction, and entertainment indsutries. You can even opt for dust-proofing on the casing of the workstation. Ultimate workstation then? Maybe.
The ThinkPad P40 Yoga mobile workstation and ThinkStation P410 workstation are readily available from Lenovo. The ThinkPad starts from MYR5,999 while the ThinkStation starts from MYR4,999. They are not cheap, but hey these are not your average gaming PCs and you can actually claim expenses to your company.
