The annual Mobile World Congress for the year 2017 is almost here and will become the stage for numerous announcements. Apart from smartphones, the event will also see announcements from the world of mobility including telecom, chipsets, mobile accessories and more.

Some of the leading names in the mobile world be present to make announcements and here is a list of all the important ones that you should not miss.

Nokia



Nokia made a comeback (thanks to HMD Global) to the smartphone world by announcing an Android device earlier this year in China called the Nokia 6. It is expected to showcase a bunch of new devices at MWC including a new rendition of the popular feature phone, 3310. Nokia, which is a part HMD Global, will be hosting an event on 26 February. It will live stream the launch event in 360-degree video on its YouTube channel and a live stream on Facebook.

Samsung



All eyes will be on Korean giant Samsung as it is expected to announce the new Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. While most of the reports say the company will only unveil the S8 pair, the handset will actually launch at a later stage. It is however confirmed to announce the new Tab S3 tablet with high end features. The Samsung press conference is scheduled on 26 February.

Apart from that, Samsung has partnered with Reliance Jio and will have a special joint press conference on 28 February (Tuesday).

Huawei



Chinese smartphone and telecom equipment vendor Huawei will be amaking an announcement at this year’s MWC. It will be announcing an update to the dual-camera equipped P9, in the form of the P10 and a larger version called the P10 Plus. It will also be launching the Huawei Watch 2 which is expected to be more sportier than the last version. If you are interested in this event, you can register yourself over here. LG

The G6 was probably the most leaked smartphone and we probably know how the handset will look like along with its specifications. It is definitely way better than the G5 and yes, no modular design. The LG G6 event is also scheduled for 26 February and will begin at 12pm CET/4.30pm IST. The company has been teasing the device on its YouTube channel, and that is probably where you can catch the event as well.

BlackBerry

The company has already revealed its unique looking ‘Mercury’ handset at CES. The handset is expected to be officially launched at MWC and hopefully we will get to learn about its specifications and price. The event is scheduled on 25 February. Crackberry is the official partner and will live stream the event over here.

Motorola

Lenovo owned Motorola, will also be making an appearance at this year’s Mobile World Congress. It will be announcing its new budget offering, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus. The handsets are expected to get a nice metal finish this year and thanks to some leaks we have a fair idea about its specs as well. Like most of the device announcements, the Moto event is scheduled for 26 February, Sunday. The launch event is expected to be streamed on Moto’s YouTube page.

Sony

Sony still seems to be sticking around and is expected to announce new Xperia smartphones. We are hoping to see a new Xperia flagship, possibly the X2 and an update of the mid-ranged Xperia XA. Sony had sent out press invites last month and will be making announcements on 27 February. The event is expected to be live streamed on the Sony’s website.

Gionee

Chinese smartphone vendor Gionee will also make an appearance at this year’s Mobile World Congress. It will be launching new mid-range smartphones under a new A-series. Some info about the smartphones have already leaked and even the launch invite confirms the device names. There is no info about the live stream, but we do know that the launch event will happen on 27 February.

Ericsson

Ericsson has a bunch of announcements and sessions lined up for MWC from 27 February till 2 March. The company will be majorly discussing 5G connectivity, Internet of things and Cloud. There is a long list of events which you can get over here. No confirmed info around the live stream, but we will update as soon as we find one.

Qualcomm

Chipset maker Qualcomm will also be present at MWC. There isn’t a fixed event but a bunch of sessions lined up from 27 February till 2 March. Expect annoucnements around 5G and new network equipment and modems.
