After plenty of waiting iOS 10 (10.0.1) is finally rolling out to Apple iPhone devices the world over. Along with iOS, Apple also rolled out updated for watchOS 3, tvOS 10.

Those who are on the developer or the public beta software, need not panic as it seems to be the same version called iOS 10.0.1.

iOS 10

Apple iOS 10.0.1 comes with a number of new features in what Apple calls the biggest iOS update. There’s a redesigned Control Center, lock screen, new widgets that can be accessed through 3D Touch, Raise to Wake feature, HomeKit and a heavily redesigned Maps, (that still does not work in India). Apple Music too gets a big new update with a better-looking and functional interface compared to the previous version of the app.

iOS 10 will be available for the following iPhone models:

iPhone 7

iPhone 7 Plus

iPhone 6s

iPhone 6s Plus

iPhone SE

iPhone 6

iPhone 6 Plus

iPhone 5s

iPhone 5c

iPhone 5

Coming to the iPads the following will be receiving the big update.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch

iPad Pro 9.7 inch

iPad Air 2

iPad Air

iPad 4th generation

iPad mini 4

iPad mini 3

iPad mini 2

and lastly, we have the iPod Touch 6th generation.

watchOS

Coming to watchOS 3, the update is built to focus on two areas, battery life and speed. Yes the new update almost seems essential especially on the current generation of Apple Watch.

Expect great battery life enhancements and big speed improvements. Part of this is because a user’s apps will kept in memory and background updates will work with cached data. watchOS users will also add a number of new customisable watch faces.

tvOS

As for tvOS, it again brings enhancements similar to what we have with watchOS (no battery life enhancements needed here). There new features to the iPhone remote app as well. Sadly, tvOS 10 is only available for the fourth generation Apple TV.

Obviously everyone will be jumping on to the new update so its best to have some patience and wait it out for at least a day before reports about bugs begin to arrive. Also the server loads will be reduced (depending on region) so you will be able to upgrade faster in a days time as compared to right now when the whole world choking up the servers.
