Navneet Education has launched its latest product: The Youva Smartbook. This new product is trying to encapsulate the needs of the tech-savvy student generation while attempting to create a fine balance between work and play.

The smartbook offers the first offline augmented reality app in this segment for students to unwind during breaks (assuming you’re a very studious student). This means that the games can be played without mobile data. This will purportedly help students deal better with stress and anxiety to assist their performance.

The Smartbook comes right after the launch of the new stationery brand, ‘Youva’ targeting that age group. Navneet Education is hoping to revitalise the school stationery market with and an augmented reality notebook cover does seem like a nice place to start, especially if well implemented.

You scan the book cover with a Youva app on your smartphone and can then participate in an AR race. The first series comprises of six different notebooks, each with variety of race cars and formats. The series ranges from Buggy racing to Nascars to Monster trucks. To run the game, you need to download Youva app from Apple App Store or Google Play store. Open the app and create a one time login through Facebook and Google Plus. After logging in, you need to follow the instructions on the app and scan the front cover of the smartbook.

Mr. Shailendra Gala, Director of Stationery Division for Navneet Education Limited added “Navneet has always worked towards empowering the youth in achieving their goals. With Youva Smartbooks, we have introduced a creative approach and a whole new experience to Longbooks that also serve as a stress buster. This product series promises innovation, learning and entertainment. We are positive that this product will appeal immensely to a generation of youth that are technologically savvy and inclined towards gaming.”
