The Easiest Homemade Pizza Dough

I know making pizza or bread dough from scratch can be intimidating as it requires yeast and hours to letting the dough to rest and rise. So, this is my go-to recipe whenever I don’t have a lot of time and I want to make homemade pizza in less than 30 minutes with homemade dough.

The secret ingredient is……beer! One 12-ounce bottle or can is all it takes (I find that a basic lager beer works best.) You don’t need to add yeast and you don’t need to let the dough rise for an hour. Win-win!

I like to use a combination of bread flour (2 cups) and white whole wheat flour (1 cup) but you could certain do all bread flour or all white whole wheat flour. The last ingredient is 1 tablespoon of baking powder which, along with the beer, helps the dough rise quickly.

Easiest Homemade Pizza Dough

Ingredients

3 cups flour (I use 2 cups bread flour and 1 cup white whole wheat flour)

1 tablespoon baking powder

12 ounces beer (I use lager)

Pinch of salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Knead dough on a floured surface for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.

Roll out dough into a large circle for one pizza or divide into six pieces for individual pizzas. (At this point, you can freeze dough in double freezer bags for future use.)

Add toppings to dough and bake for 10 - 14 minutes (depending how big pizza is.)

Remove from oven, slice and serve.
