(Bizpac Review) – Sen. Jeff Sessions’ first confirmation hearing for U.S. Attorney General was repeatedly interrupted early on by protesters.
Two men mockingly wearing white Ku Klux Klan robes and pointed hats stood on chairs in the Senate hearing room Tuesday morning and claimed they were the Alabama Republican’s number one fans.

“Jefferson Beauregard, you speak for the people!” one of the men yelled at the AG nominee, addressing him by his first and middle name.
A few men chanted “No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!” and yelled about racism before being escorted away by police.

“You can’t arrest me, I’m white,” said one man as he was led away. “White people don’t get arrested. I’m a white man!”

Moments later, a woman wearing a pink coat was removed from the room and began shouting as she was led away.

More Code Pink protesters were escorted out of the hearing after holding a sign that read
“Support Civil Rights Stop Sessions” and shouting that Sessions was a “white supremacist.”

Activists for legalizing marijuana were also on location, arriving at the committee room at 4:20 a.m. wearing red shirts printed with “Great Americans Smoke Sessions,” according to The Blaze.
Reactions to the protests were mixed on Twitter as some applauded the efforts while others condemned the actions of those who were being disrespectful.
