The Texas Digital Library is pleased to announce dates for introductory DSpace and Vireo training, to be held in Austin on April 8-9.

The TDL welcomes faculty and staff from all TDL member institutions to register for the courses, which are free of charge. Both courses will be held in the Perry-Castañeda Library on the UT Austin campus.

April 8, 2014 – Intro to DSpace (more info)

This one-day course provides beginner-level DSpace users with an overview of the use and management of DSpace repositories. Students will gain hands-on experience with DSpace and the use of the DSpace administrative interface.

Duration: 9am-4pm

Location: UT Austin, Perry-Castañeda Library Room 1.202 | Parking & Directions

Cost: Free for TDL members. Registration is required.

April 9, 2014 – Intro to Vireo (more info)

In this course, students receive an overview of Vireo, the system developed by the Texas Digital Library for handling the online submission and management of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). Students will gain hands-on experience using Vireo to shepherd a thesis or dissertation through the entire ETD workflow.

Note: The April 9 offering will cover new features in Vireo version 2.
