Fifth Harmony, Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar will compete for the show’s top prize of a $5 million (£3.1 million) recording contract next week. Emblem3 – who are mentored by Simon Cowell – were eliminated after receiving the lowest percentage of the public vote. Thanking the public for voting her into the final, Sonenclar told Emblem3: “I know you’re gonna go so far, and I can’t wait to buy your album.” Unlike previous weeks, the public vote standings – which have only ever been topped by Stevens and Sonenclar – were not revealed during this week’s results show. Sonenclar had finished with over half of the votes in this week’s TQ reader opinion poll, and readers correctly predicted that Emblem3 were at risk of elimination. Of Fifth Harmony’s success, Cowell said that he “believes in miracles” and expressed his pride in the group’s performances on Wednesday’s show (December 12). He said that he was “very, very disappointed” that Emblem3 hadn’t made the finals, but reassured the trio that they would have a “huge career” off the back of the show. Stevens said: “For every country music fan out there – I am one of the biggest country music fans – thank you very much!” “I can’t claim to have always been a country music fan, but do you know what I am now, more importantly? A Tate Stevens fan,” the country singer’s mentor LA Reid – who will depart the show at the end of this season – said. This week’s special musical guests were Bruno Mars and Disney star Bridget Mendler. It was also confirmed that open auditions for the third season will take place during March and April 2013, and that Pitbull and One Direction will be among the guest performers during next week’s finals.
