Long time no chat, huh? I’ve been a little MIA the past two weeks because I’ve been in orientation for my dietetic internship! Woohoo! Things are finally getting started and we begin actual rotations next week. Time sure does fly doesn’t it? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was telling you all about the terror that was DICAS applications and the eternity we felt waiting for our matches. Good times had by all in the field of dietetics.

Yesterday we had the day off from orientation stuff, so on Tuesday night a bunch of us interns went out for dinner at a nearby sushi restaurant in C-Bus. Believe it or not, this was my first ever sushi experience. I know. What kind of foodie am I? I don’t know, there’s just something about the idea of eating raw fish that turns me off. I don’t even love cooked fish that much. So the raw kind just doesn’t appeal to me. But I did try a REALLY good peanut avocado roll and it may have just changed my life a little bit. I even ate the leftovers for a snack at like 10 in the morning yesterday. Second breakfast in the form of sushi. Don’t knock it ’til ya try it guys.

Can we talk about how expensive dress clothes are? I feel like that’s all I spend my money on these days now that I’ve entered the real world so to speak. Nice clothes that I sweat in, nonetheless. Gone are the days of Lululemon being acceptable under all circumstances. I really miss those days already. My friend (and fellow intern) Sarah and I have an ongoing joke about how depressing that reality really is. Is it bad that my ultimate goal in life is to find a job that requires yoga pants? Don’t answer that.

So remember that bike ride I told you about? Well we made it! Granted we were only going 25 miles, but hey small victories right? It was so much fun and so inspiring and I can’t wait to do it again next year already. Can I just ask one question though? Why are cycling jerseys so small? I felt like could have busted out of mine and causes a major scene at any time. No bueno.

Let’s eat, shall we?
