Taylor Johnson, a marketing agency that specializes in public relations and social media for the real estate industry, today announced several new appointments as the firm positions itself for growth amid ongoing recovery in the real estate market.

Emily Johnson, owner and president of Taylor Johnson, stated, “As our firm continues to expand in a post-recession economy, we’re excited to bring on a diverse and talented group of professionals whose extensive experience in media relations and real estate will help us accommodate our growing roster of clients.”

Kim Manning, formerly PR director, was promoted to vice president, overseeing day-to-day interactions with clients and members of the media and assisting with overall management of the firm. Since joining Taylor Johnson in 1999, she has been involved with some of the biggest residential and commercial projects in the Chicago area, including the launch of Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. Manning was previously a managing editor in the Chicago office of London-based market research firm Mintel and also worked at SmithBucklin, a Chicago-based association management and services company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Julie Liedtke and Kelly Shumaker have joined Taylor Johnson as senior account executives. Liedtke, who brings more than 15 years of public relations and marketing communications experience to the firm, most recently served as vice president, marketing and strategic sales, at Mesirow Financial. In that position, she developed, managed and executed a variety of integrated communications programs for several of the firm’s diverse businesses, including the real estate development, investment management and consulting practices. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from DePaul University and associate’s degree in graphic design from Robert Morris College.

Shumaker comes to Taylor Johnson after spending more than three years as an independent marketing communications consultant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University.
