Hey there, crafty friends! It's time for our August release which is full of spooks, sweets, and southwestern flair! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Have you noticed that the candy corn is already out on the store shelves? So that means it's not too early to start on your Halloween projects (and in my book, it's never too early to start on anything! In fact, I should get started on my Easter cards for next year! *wink*). With this release, we're adding to some of our fan favorite collections with 8 new stamp sets, 24 dies and cutting plates, 2 new embossing folders, and a new Matched collection and sequins.

All of the new products are now available for purchase in the New Products Department at the TE web store, but before you head over to the shop or scroll down for more inspiration, I have some lucky winners to announce!

Our talented creative team is back at it for another day jam-packed with inspiration using our latest products! I couldn't leave this week of sneak peeks without using the Drink if You Dare die set. If you've been hanging around the Taylored Expressions blog lately, then you know how much I love a fun, interactive shaker element. This die set was designed to create a super cool potion bottle shaped shaker element:

I started by die cutting the potion bottle from Earl Gray cardstock, leaving the inner die inside the potion bottle. Then I removed the inner die piece, and die cut just the outer potion bottle from clear plastic sheet in order to cover the window cut into the potion bottle in my previous step.

Then I added 1/8" thick foam tape all the way around the frame of the potion bottle die cut. I die cut the Little Bits Halloween Confetti from several different colors and put that inside my shaker element. In order to fill my shaker element, I adhere all sides of the potion bottle to my project except the top, leaving enough space to pour in my confetti.

With the angle of the photo above you're able to see how the foam tape is arranged around the frame, making sure each piece touches the one next to it. That's how you ensure none of your confetti falls out of the shaker.  To finish it off I tied a tag stamped with a sentiment from the Witch's Brew stamp set.
