1) What is Zoomcar?
Zoomcar is India's first membership-based, self-drive car rental service which allows individuals to hire cars by the hour or by the day. Reservations are made through the website or our mobile app.
2) What type of vehicles does Zoomcar offer?
Zoomcar offers Ford Figo, Honda Amaze, Honda City, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra Scorpio LX, Mahindra XUV, Tata Nano, Mahindra E2O.
3) Are there restrictions on where I can travel?
Most of Zoomcar's vehicles are equipped with an All India Permit, so you are free to Zoom anywhere in India. Vehicles without an All India Permit are specified on the website. Visit Zoomcar's Outstation section for more tips on traveling between states.
4) Do I have to return the car to the same location where I picked it up?
Yes. You must bring the vehicle back to the same place you picked it up before the end of your reservation. If you dropoff the car at a location different from your pickup point, you will be charged INR 2000, and the full hourly rate and late fees until the vehicle is returned to the correct location.
5) Does the car come with a driver?
Zoomcar does not provide drivers. But, if you would like to arrange for a driver for your Zoomcar vehicle, just make sure the driver signs up to become a Zoomcar member first.
6) Do the vehicles have manual or automatic transmission?
The Figos, Ventos, Scorpios, Ecosport, Honda City, Mahindra XUV W6 have manual transmission. The BMWs, Mercedes and Revas have automatic transmission
7) What is Peak Season? Are the prices different during Peak Season?
Hourly rates are different for Mon-Thu, Fri-Sun and Peak Season. Please have a look at the dates for Peak Season here. The prices are mentioned on the tariff page.
8) Can I take the car early?
No. If you want to take the car early, please reschedule your booking.
9) Can I take a pet along with me?
We love pets. But many of our members are allergic to them. So, we don’t allow any pets in our Zoomcars.
10) What if I leave something in Zoomcar?
Zoomcar is not responsible for your belongings. However we suggest you call the call center at 080-60009666. We will try our best to help you find your belongings.
11) Can someone else drive Zoomcar during my reservation?
Only members can drive Zoomcars. If you've got a fellow Zoomcar member along for the ride, it's ok to go ahead and share the driving time.
12) How can I use my Zoomcar credits ?
Zoomcar credits can be used at checkout to pay the booking fee. Your credits are kept in your Zoomcar Wallet. You earn credits through promotions we run from time to time. Credits can only be used on the checkout page to pay the booking fee, they cannot be used to pay security deposit, damage charges, extension fees, etc. One user can earn up to only INR 10000 in credits from referrals.
13) How do I become a member?
Becoming a member is easy! Go to the website Zoomcar and just Sign Up or use our mobile app (Android or iPhone) to make an account with your contact information and upload a photo of your original driver's license and your credit or debit card information. Now, you're ready to make a reservation
14) What type of driver's license is required?
Zoomcar requires either an Indian driver's license or an International Driver's Permit (IDP). It's critical that the license is an original! Licenses must be for a light motor vehicle (car). Members do NOT need a specific cab license that is associated with a yellow board plate.
15) How old do I have to be to join Zoomcar?
You must be 18 or older to join Zoomcar. You must upload your original driver's license and date of birth under My Settings. These steps confirm your age.
16) What information must I provide before I can make a vehicle reservation?
Make a member profile including your date of birth and a photo or scan of your original driver's license. Then enter your payment details (credit or debit card) and you are ready to Zoom!
17) How long does it take to become a member, and can I drive on the same day I become a member?
It takes less than 2 minutes to become a Zoomcar member. Driving on the same day you sign up is allowed and in fact, we encourage it!
18) How do I make a booking?
It's simple on our online reservation system! Just select the type of car you want, the location you want to pick it up from, and the start and end time for your reservation. Then enter your payment details (credit or debit card) and you are ready to Zoom!
19) How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?
As long as a vehicle is available, you can book immediately! Zoomcar recommends customers make bookings as early as possible.
20) What if I need to modify or extend my reservation?
Please visit the Quick Links tab in the help page. You can select the booking for which you want modify your reservation. You can also visit the my bookings page on the app to modify your reservation
21) How do I cancel a reservation?
Reservations can be cancelled from Zoomcar's website. You can manage a reservation on your Accounts page. This is where you have the option to cancel your reservation.
22) If I cancel my reservation, do I still have to pay?
a) A cancellation charge of Rs. 200 applies if you cancel more than 24 hours before booking start time.
b) A charge of 50% of booking amount is applicable if cancelled within 24 hours of the booking start time.
c) No cancellation is allowed after booking start time.
23) What happens if I return the car late?
a) Standard hourly charges will be applicable per hour of delay. Weekend or weekday delays will be charged accordingly.
b) Free KMs will be given at 10 km per hour of delay.
c) An additional Rs. 300 per hour will be charged as late fee.
24) What happens if someone else returns the car late, and it is not there when my reservation begins?
If your reserved vehicle is not where it is supposed to be, notify us immediately by calling 080-60009666. Zoomcar and our helpful fleet executives will make sure you get where you need to go! If a near-by Zoomcar vehicle is available, we will transfer your reservation. If not, we will call you a cab and get you a self-drive vehicle as soon as possible so you can quickly be on your way.
25) If I bring the car back ahead of my reservation time, do I receive a credit?
Sorry, no credits will be given for early return.
26) Can I book for any period of time?
The upper cap for reservation is 30 days. You can book them 60 days in advance. The minimum reservation period is 4 hours.
27) What are “hourly” Zoomcar prices?

28) Can I book a one way trip?
No. For all reservations, you will need to return your Zoomcar to its pickup location at the end of your trip.
29) Where are Zoomcar vehicles located?
Zoomcar has multiple locations in Bangalore. Here is the link of Bangalore map showing various pick up and drop off locations.
30) When will I receive my referral credits?
You will only receive referral credits only after your referred friend completes his/her first booking with Zoomcar.
31) Can I transfer my Zoomcar credits to some other account?
No. You can’t transfer your credits from one account to the other.
32) How will I know that I have received Zoomcar credits?
Just check your Zoomcar wallet!! Your Zoomcar credits will be reflected in your Zoomcar wallet.
33) I can’t use my credits. What should I do?

34) I can’t apply my discount voucher. What should I do?
Please make sure that your discount voucher is still valid. If the problem still persists please retry after some time.
35) Can I club two discount vouchers?
No. You can only use one offer/promo for one booking. Using multiple offers/promos is not allowed
36) Is Zoomcar 24/7?
Our call center is open around the clock to help you with your bookings. You can also keep a Zoomcar for as long as you like. However, our pickup locations close between 12am-6am to allow us to reset for another day of excellent service. Our users cannot schedule a pickup or dropoff during that time. But don’t worry if you are running late and miss the 12am mark, you can still drop the car and lock it keylessly.
37) What modes of payments are accepted?
Zoomcar accepts payments by credit cards, debit cards and netbanking. All payments are made in advance through our website or mobile app. Sorry, we do not accept cash.
38) How am I reimbursed if I pump my own fuel?
Please give your fuel receipt to the Fleet Executive after your reservation and Zoomcar will happily reimburse you for the full amount.
39) How do I identify the transaction on my credit or debit card statement?
Each transaction with Zoomcar will appear marked as from 'ZoomCar India Pvt. Ltd.'
40) I had problems while the payment was being made after I entered my credit or debit card details. Has my reservation been made?
No. If your payment does not succeed for whatever reason, Zoomcar's reservation system will not confirm your booking. In order to complete the booking process, payment has to be done upfront.
41) What are Zoomcar credits and how do I earn them?
Zoomcar credits can be used at checkout to pay the booking fee. Your credits are kept in your Zoomcar Wallet. You earn credits through promotions we run from time to time. Credits can only be used on the checkout page to pay the booking fee, they cannot be used to pay security deposit, damage charges, extension fees, etc.
42) Is there a Speed Limit?
Yes, 125 km/hr. You will be charged a overspeeding fine max upto INR 750 in case you speed above 125 km/hr. You shall be blacklisted if we find more than two overspeeding cases against you. You will be blacklist if you speed over 150 km/hr.
43) What are the fines that Zoomcar levies on the Customer?

44) What documents do I need to bring when I pick up my Zoomcar vehicle?
Please bring your original driver's license and a valid credit or debit card for any incidentals charges (e.g. excess kms, extended reservation, etc.)
45) Can someone else drive the vehicle during my reservation?
Only Zoomcar members are allowed to drive Zoomcar vehicles. If you allow another member to drive during your reservation, you are still responsible for the vehicle. In the event a non-member drives the vehicle, Zoomcar's insurance coverage would be invalidated.
46) What do I do if I meet with an accident?
Immediately notify Zoomcar by calling 080-60009666 and we will guide you through the entire process. We will coordinate everything with the police, insurance, and road-side assistance. Do not leave the scene of the accident until proper support has arrived. You may be required to sign several formality documents associated with the accident.
47) What do I do if the vehicle breaks down?
Immediately notify Zoomcar by calling 080-60009666 and we will guide you through the entire process with the help of our Call Center and Fleet Executive team. Each vehicle also has a 24x7 road-side support hotline number. Zoomcar will coordinate everything with this road-side assistance provider. Do not leave the scene of the breakdown until proper support has arrived.
48) Where do I return the Zoomcar?
Return the Zoomcar to its pick up location. Need a reminder of the car's home location? Please call our Call Center at 080-60009666 and we will connect you to our Fleet executive. Our Fleet Executive shall direct you to your Zoomcar Location.
49) What if I return to a different location?
If you leave your car at a location different from your pickup point, you will be charged INR 2000, and the full hourly rate and late fees until the vehicle is returned to the correct location.
50) What if the parking space assigned is already blocked?
Call us at 080-60009666 and we'll work with you to find a nearby parking space.
51) How do I end my reservation?
Just drop the car at the pick up location you picked it up and fill up the dropoff checklist using the Zoomcar App. Our Fleet guy would automatically get a notification of your dropoff.
52) How do I fill the pick up checklist & Dropoff Checklist?
Filling checklists is easy! Now you can fill your pick up and drop off checklists via the Zoomcar App. Just login to the App, select your live booking from the My bookings page and fill the pick up and drop off checklists.
53) What is the insurance coverage?
Zoomcar provides full wrap unlimited third party liability insurance without a maximum cap. However damage fee applies when the member is involved in an incident (including but not limited to a collision or misuse of the vehicle) Member will be responsible for a standard insurance deductible payment of up to INR 5000. The Member will be obligated to pay the repair cost (up to INR 5000). The payment owed will be deducted from the security deposit. Should the security deposit not cover the payment (in the case the Member has accrued late return, excess km, etc charges) the balance of the payment owed will be made electronically by the Member.
54) What is damage fee and when does it apply?
Damage fee applies when the member is involved in an incident (including but not limited to a collision or misuse of the vehicle). The Member will be obligated to pay the repair cost (up to INR 5000) or the standard insurance deductible payment (up to INR 5000). The payment owed will be deducted from the security deposit paid by the customer. In the event the customer is found to violate Zoomcar T&C the maximum cap of INR 5000 will not be applicable. 55) Who pays for fuel?
Unlike other car hire services, Zoomcar always pays for the fuel, regardless of whether the vehicle is a diesel or petrol variant. Zoomcar refuels the vehicles regularly. If you are driving a long distance and you need to refuel the vehicle, just give your fuel receipt to the Fleet Executive after your reservation and Zoomcar will happily reimburse you the full amount.
56) Is there a km limit to how much I can drive?
Each reservation comes with 10 km/hr with a maximum daily driving limit of 240 km/day (24 hour period). For example, a 5 hour reservation would come with 50 km in driving at no additional charge while a 3 day reservation would come with 720 km in driving at no additional charge. There is a per-km charge for each km beyond that point. Please see Zoomcar tariffs for more details.
57) What are the requirements when I drive across a State border?
Each State has different procedures. All States will require a commercially registered vehicle to stop at the border RTO station to pay the relevant tolls/taxes to obtain a valid entry permit. All Zoomcar vehicles contain original copies of the RC Card, Insurance Note, Self-Drive License, and the All India Permit. In the event that an incident arises, please call Zoomcar's 24 hour Call Center at 080-60009666 and we will provide the necessary guidance to the RTO officer to ensure the issue is resolved and you're back Zooming as soon as possible!
58) What documents must I show at the State border RTO office after crossing a State border?
You must show copies of the RC Card, Insurance Note, Self-Drive License, and the All India Permit.
59) What is the amount I must pay at a State border crossing to obtain a permit and legally enter the State?
Prices vary depending on State and vehicle type (larger vehicles have higher tolls/taxes). For most states, prices range from Rs 100 to 500 for a week-long permit. Zoomcar does not reimburse for these charges. Andhra Pradesh only offers an annual permit, which costs between Rs 2500 to 3500. No weekly permit is offered for Andhra Pradesh. Zoomcar will reimburse the Member the full cost of the Andhra Pradesh permit and the Andhra Pradesh permit only. If you are traveling to Andhra Pradesh, please consult a Zoomcar representative to see if your vehicle is already equipped with a permit.
60) What do I do if a border officer at the State RTO crossing is causing a problem?
This should not occur since each Zoomcar vehicle is outfitted with all necessary documents. In the event that an incident does arise, please call Zoomcar's 24 hour Call Center at 080-60009666 and we will provide the necessary guidance to the RTO officer to ensure the issue is resolved and you are back Zooming as soon as possible! Zoomcar will not reimburse the member for any additional charges levied by RTO enforcement.
61) Who pays for parking?
Members must pay for parking outside of the Zoomcar vehicle's home location.
62) Am I responsible for parking and moving violations?
Yes. Members must pay for any fines incurred during the reservation.
63) Why do I have to pay a deposit?
We have seen that many of our customers like to Zoom off to extra far away destinations. In these instances, they typically have some additional charges at the end of their booking given the distance traveled. Additionally, it is not always so easy out there as a self-drive pilot and some damage will happen. This deposit will allow Zoomcar to seamlessly complete these transactions without the hassle of a human intervention as part of a formal online payment process. Our helpful support team can reconcile your payment remotely and clear your final bill in a matter of seconds. This will ensure that you are Zooming off not only at the start of your booking but also the end.
Dont worry, you do not forfeit your entire deposit for charges that are less than Rs 5000.
Please do keep in mind that though we refund the remaining amount immediately it will take 5-15 days before it reflects in your account.
64) Can I delay paying the refundable security deposit?
Of course you can! Because of high demand for vehicles, a substantial chunk of our users make bookings weeks in advance. We're not a bank, and the Zoomcar team really doesn't want your money stuck in a security deposit for that entire period. So, at the time of checkout you can choose to delay your deposit payment to 24 hours before your booking starting. However, do remember to pay the deposit by then or your booking will get cancelled.
65) Can I use my credits for security deposit purpose?
No. Credits can be used only for booking purpose and not for security deposit.
66) Why do I need a Citrus Cash account?
Zoomcar will be making all refunds through Citrus Cash for super fast turnarounds. You have to link your Citrus Cash account with Zoomcar for the same. Refunds will be completed to Citrus Cash in 3 days at the latest and you can withdraw the balance to your bank account any time!
67) What if I cannot link Citrus Cash to my Zoomcar account?
If your attempt at linking Citrus Cash fails, you can proceed to complete a booking. However, please try again by navigating to the 'My Bookings' page and clicking on 'Link Citrus Cash' under 'My Wallet'. Whenever your booking ends, Zoomcar will first look to refund to your Citrus Cash account. Soon, all refunds will be processed only through Citrus Cash so make sure you have one linked to your Zoomcar account!
68) Can I use Citrus Cash to pay at Zoomcar?
Yes, you can use Citrus Cash or any of our standard payment options to pay at Zoomcar.
69) Do I need a Citrus Cash account to pay at Zoomcar?
Not necessarily. Zoomcar continues to offer all payment options currently supported. Citrus Cash is mandatory for refunds. However, you can use your Citrus Cash account to pay at Zoomcar too.
70) How do I resolve issues related to my Citrus Cash account?
If you face any issues with your Citrus Cash account, please write to us at feedback@zoomcar.com and we will resolve the issue asap.
71) Can I withdraw my Citrus Cash balance into my bank account?
Absolutely! You can withdraw your Citrus Cash balance into your bank account any time. Navigate to the 'My Bookings' page and click on the 'Withdraw' button. You will be redirected to the Citrus Cash page when you can login with your Citrus Cash credentials. There, you can enter your bank account details and withdraw your balance. It can take up to 1 business day for the amount to reflect in your account.
72) How much time does it take to get my refund back?
All refunds initiated to Citrus Cash will get completed within 3 days latest. In some cases, refunds are initiated to the account you used to pay at the time of the booking and this will take 5 to 15 days to reflect in your account
73) How do I link my Citrus Wallet?
You will be asked to link your Citrus Wallet before you make your booking. You can also directly link your Citrus Wallet by visiting My Bookings page on the Web or the wallet page in the App
74) Can I pay my booking’s outstanding amount through Citrus Cash?
Definitely! As long as you have sufficient balance in your Citrus Cash account, the outstanding amount will be automatically debited 24 hours before your booking starts. We want to make your Zoomcar experience smooth, so you don’t have to worry about logging in and paying the outstanding amount.
