The number of items from the late Michael Brown's estate to be sold at auction is so numerous that the proposed sale will likely be spread over four weekends.

Brown, a once-prominent hand surgeon who had lost his physician's license after testing positive for cocaine use, was declared "brain dead" Nov. 7 after suffering a heart attack Oct. 24 in Miami.

According to a document filed Wednesday in federal court, Ronald J. Sommers, the Chapter 11 trustee in Brown's still-pending bankruptcy case, has asked the court for authority to employ auctioneer William Webster to sell the estate property.

Sommers, a Houston attorney, is also the Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for five of Brown's companies.

If approved, the sales will be held at the auctioneer's place of business, Webster's Auction Palace in Houston.

According to a proposed schedule, the auctions are to take place on four Sunday afternoons in January.

One Sunday will be devoted to weapons, including 110 guns, and accessories.

The weapons range from a .22-caliber Beretta Mod 21A pistol to three 12-gauge Benelli Super 90 shotguns.

Other listed weapons include a 45-caliber Colt Army revolver, a 9-mm Glock 17 pistol with no clip, a 25-caliber Iver Johnson pistol and a Winchester 12-gauge repeating shotgun.

Among the weapon accessories are 58 gun holsters and soft gun cases, two gun-cleaning kits, a Coleman range finder, two hard gun cases for travel and seven large hunting knives.

Also listed with the weapons and accessories is a Pits-N-Spits BBQ trailer.
