Tate & Tryon is pleased to announce the promotions of the following staff members within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance and Outsourced Services practices:

Reggie Brewington, CPA to Senior Manager

Reggie has been promoted to Senior Manager within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. Reggie joined Tate & Tryon in 2012 and has over 15 years of experience working with a variety of nonprofit organizations including community development corporations, member and professional associations, art organizations, religious organizations, and voluntary health and welfare organizations.   He has also worked with organizations that receive HUD financing, and those that must adhere to Government Auditing Standards, OMB Circulars, and Uniform Guidance requirements.  Reggie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in both Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Maureen Downs, CPA to Senior Manager

Maureen has been promoted to Senior Manager within the Firm’s Outsourced Services practice. With more than 20 years of accounting and consulting experience, Maureen provides senior financial leadership and advisory services as an outsourced and interim CFO.    Maureen joined Tate & Tryon in 2011 after previously serving as a CFO for a $14 million 501(c)(3) professional membership organization where she was responsible for providing a wide range of accounting, finance, HR management, and administrative services.  Maureen is a member of the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA) and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).  She holds a holds a BS in Accounting from Elizabethtown College.

Katrina Henderson, CPA to Senior Manager

Katrina has been promoted to Senior Manager within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. Katrina joined Tate & Tryon in 2010 and has over 14 years of experience working exclusively with nonprofit organizations including charitable organizations, trade and membership associations, as well as related employee benefit plans. In addition, she has extensive experience with auditing federal award programs in accordance with the Uniform Guidance/OMB Circulars.  Katrina is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA).  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park.

John Kubichek, CPA, CFE to Senior Manager

John has been promoted to Senior Manager within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. John joined Tate & Tryon in 2011 and has over 18 years of public accounting experience working with a variety of nonprofit and for profit clients. He also has extensive experience in conducting audits of employee benefit plans including 403(b), 401(k), and defined benefit plans audits.  As a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), John is an accredited expert in fraud prevention and detection.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA).  John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Geneva College.

Ariana Young, CPA to Senior Manager

Ariana has been promoted to Senior Manager within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. Ariana joined Tate & Tryon in 2012 and has over 12 years of experience working with a variety of nonprofit organizations including trade and professional associations, charities, environmental groups, educational organizations, and religious institutions.  She has considerable experience with auditing federal award programs in accordance the Uniform Guidance/OMB Circulars and is also experienced in dealing with complex accounting issues related to endowments, Fair Value Accounting (Alternative Investments), Revenue Recognition, and Going Concern considerations.  Ariana is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).  She holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and a MS in Accountancy from The George Washington University.

Meredith Richman, CPA to Manager

Meredith has been promoted to Manager within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. Meredith joined Tate & Tryon in 2011 and has over 5 years of public accounting experience working exclusively with nonprofit organizations including associations, charitable organizations, and political action committees, as well as related for-profit subsidiaries and qualified pension and 403(b) plans.  Meredith is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA).  She holds a MS in Accounting from the University of Virginia and a BA in Economics from George Washington University.

Ed Kent to Audit Senior

Ed has been promoted to Audit Senior within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. Ed joined Tate & Tryon as a Staff Auditor in 2014 after previously working as an audit intern in the Firm’s summer learning program over the summer of 2013.  Ed holds a BS in Accounting from Susquehanna University.

Maura Handte to Audit Senior

Maura has been promoted to Audit Senior within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Services practice. Maura joined Tate & Tryon in 2014 as a Staff Auditor after graduating from Susquehanna University with a BS in Accounting.

Samantha Burch to Senior Staff Accountant

Samantha has been promoted to Senior Staff Accountant within the Firm’s Outsourced Services practice. Samantha joined Tate & Tryon in 2015 as a Staff Accountant after previously working as an accounting intern in the Firm’s summer learning program over the summer of 2014.  She holds a MS in Accounting and Information Systems from James Madison University.
