2 different German made firearm scopes. Made by DR. Wohler of Kassel Germany
Dr Wohler is little know in North America / USA . They were a world class leading maker of precision optics best know for their military scopes for Germany , Switzerland , Sweden, and other select European countries. They also made very limited editions of civilian optics .
They made various devices including but not limited to : Rifle Sniper / tactical scopes , aiming devices for larger guns , microscopes , telescopes , monoculars , binoculars , cameras ( including arial spy cameras) and others .
Dr Wohler may be best known for making precision rifle sniper scopes for the German military during WW2 . Their 3 letter German manufacturers code was " CLB" for those who wish to research the topic.
Dr Wohler ( there actually was a real Dr Wohler who was the company founder ) made optics that were the equal to or even surpassing those made by other better know makers like Zeiss , Hensholdt , Kern , Kahles, and other superb European optical experts .
The 2 Dr Wohler scopes I have for sale are both Museum Quality Gems / Collectors Dream pieces and are the 2 best examples I have found after 25 + years of collecting this rare obscure brand . Both are NOS ( New Old Stock ) and are pristine , 100% original and complete and fully functional .
Here is what Im selling : The first Dr Wohler scope is fairly rare , especially in good condition as it was a military optic device and was never made for civilian sales . The second Dr Wohler scope is an ultra rare example of a sniper / tactical scope made for military applications but was also made available as a precision sports scope to select European markets. Only a small handful of this second scope were ever made.
1) Dr Wohler Kassel 2 x 17 Military Optical Scope NOS ( New Old Stock ) in pristine condition inside and out. Fully functional with crystal clear and clean optics and smooth and tight adjustment mechanisms. This superb scope has a steel 26mm tube / housing and is completely made by Dr Wohler in Kassel Germany . Made in the 1950s to 1960s . Mated to a set / pair of brand new mil spec offset mounting rings .
2) Dr Wohler SAAR / Kassel German. 4X Precision Sniper / Tactical scope. This beautiful scope has a highly polished blued tube / housing and is in pristine NOS condition. 100% original and complete with crystal clear clean optics . Made by Dr Wohler of Kassel Germany but assembled in SAAR post WW2 in order to allow sales of the scope to limited markets outside of Germany ( SAAR was a part of Germany temporarily under French control right after WW2 ...this region existed for 9 years and was re integrated into Western Germany ) .
This second scope is a precision tactical / sniper scope in 4 X made for both military applications and also very small numbers were sold to select civilian markets for Sport use.
