Calling all cat lovers!

In celebration of their new book CATIFICATION,  star of Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell  Jackson Galaxy & Kate Benjamin of Haustepanther.com want to catify your favorite shelter!

We all know how hard these organizations work to help provide a safe and comfortable home for homeless kitties. Give back by voting for your favorite shelter in our Catification sweepstakes! The organization with the most votes by October 14th will win a Catification makeover from Jackson Galaxy and Kate Benjamin. What is Catification? Based on pro cat design tips from My Cat From Hell and Hausepanther.com, Catification walks readers through a step-by-step process of designing an attractive home that is also an optimal environment for your cats. Though these rescue organizations work tirelessly to ensure the happiness of as many cats as possible, space and funding restrictions often make it difficult to create the kind of environment that will foster each kitty’s inner wild cat!

Every vote counts! Each vote submitted in this poll brings your favorite shelter one step closer to the grand Prize makeover and several prizes for runners up including signed copies of Jackson’s books and discounts on some of the great products available on  shop.hauspanther.com and store.jacksongalaxy.com.

All About Animals Rescue- Phoenix, AZ

All About Animals Rescue came into existence in October 2010 an we received our IRS designation in May 2011.  Since then we have assisted over 5000 animals with a focus on cats. Our cost to get each animal prepared for it’s forever home is about $70, much lower than any other groups average Yearly budget is $90,000).  In fact, we have grown to be the largest foster based rescue in Arizona. We adore cats and work with many that most rescues would never touch including Cerebellar Hypoplasia, Feline Hyperesthesia, inappropriate elimination, neurological issues, intense behavioral issues, ringworm, etc.  We LOVE “issues.”

Currently we would be looking to catify our 400SF catio and 400+SF indoor kitty space.  We have worked with Jackson on two fundraisers previously and believe in his process and his Spirit Essences.  Catification of our rescue will be gladly advertised everywhere and we will invite other rescues in and provide education and training so that they can also help kitties that fall between the cracks.

The Kitten Rescue Center- Los Angeles, CA

The Kitten Rescue Sanctuary houses approximately 150 cats at any given time. Many of these animals are highly adoptable cats waiting to find their forever homes. Others may, more likely than not, spend the rest of their lives at the Sanctuary- –either because they are feral, have a chronic medical condition, or are elderly and therefore less likely to be adopted. A Catification makeover would make for a better quality of life for our lifetime Sanctuary residents as well as a comfortable stay for our adoptable cats while they wait for their forever homes. If the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary gets Catified, the cats will be happier and they will show better to potential adopters!

Blind Cat Rescue- Saint Pauls, NC

Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary is a non-profit life time care rescue and sanctuary founded in 2005 to anwser the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed not adoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they were blind. In 2011, we built a second shelter building to address the need for a safe place for FELV+ and FIV+ often killed in shelters for testing positive for these viruses. As many of the cats at Blind Cat Rescuse’s shelters will live there for the rest of heir lives, a Catification makeover would really help improve the quality of life of kitties who fond a forever home at the Blind Cat Rescue locations.

Spaymart- Picayune, MS

SpayMart is a private nonprofit organization that runs a no-kill shelter and foster care program. We receive no federal or state funds, and rely solely on private donations and grants. We are a registered charity with 501( c) 3 status. Established in the summer of 1998, we work to enhance the lives of animals in the Greater New Orleans area and the Gulf Coast region through programs directed at education, adoption, rescue and low cost spay/neuter. With great programs like Senior Cats for Seniors, SpayMart helps place cats deemed undesirable for adoption by other shelter with senior citizens in need of the love and companionship pets bring. A Catification Makeover of our new 25k sqft sanctuary, donated by a former participant in our Senior Cats for Seniors program, would really help the over 275 cats living there to feel more at home.

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue- Redmond, WA

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals and to end the devastating pet overpopulation through spay and neuter advocacy.Motley Zoo Animal Rescue dedicates its work to end pet overpopulation and the resulting euthanization of healthy, adoptable pets, due to limited space and funds of our local, national, and international animal welfare organizations as well as working to end abuse and neglect of all animals resulting from lack of information and education of the community, all the while advocating the value of all animal life. Helping some of our indispensable foster families with some Catification would really benefit the animals we serve.

Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center- Springfield, MA

The Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center provides animal control services for the cities of Springfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke.  Our animal control officers respond to routine service calls Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.  Emergency response for ill, injured or aggressive animals is available 24 hours a day. Helping the animals of three cities is no easy task, and a Catification Makeover would help us improve the lives of the hundred of animals living at our adoption center.

Tabby’s Place- Ringoes, NJ

Tabby’s Place is a cage-free sanctuary that provides refuge to cats in hopeless situations. Our residents come primarily from public shelters where they had once been scheduled for euthanasia. This one-of-a-kind facility serves as An Adoption Center, finding loving homes for cats, A Hospital, providing medical and surgical treatment for sick or injured residents, and  A Hospice, providing palliative care and a warm, loving environment for chronically or terminally ill cats to live out their lives in comfort. Tabby’s Place does not turn cats away due to age, medical need, or “lack of adoptability.” It is, therefore, a safe haven for several older, chronically ill, or handicapped cats. Our sanctuary is specially designed to promote community living and good health for our cats, features that could be enhanced by a Catification makeover.

We believe a happy and healthy life for our animals begins with a safe and comfortable environment, something we strive to create our locations.

Animal Outreach of Cape May County- Cape May, NJ

Animal Outreach is an organization of dedicated individuals who work every day to help animals throughout our South Jersey communities. We assist owners in need, sponsor strays, foster cats, kittens, dogs and puppies awaiting adoption, and provide humane education to the public. Our mission is to provide shelter, care and love for the unwanted, abused and/or abandoned animals of Cape May County. We include in our mission rescuing animals from surrounding county and state shelters that are slated for euthanasia. Animal Outreach strongly endorses spay and neutering programs and is committed to helping educate our community in responsible pet ownership. We are a “no kill” organization. Our adoption program has helped to greatly reduce the numbers of homeless animals in our county. We encourage cooperation between municipal and private shelters to coordinate efforts to eliminate the tragedy of animal homelessness.

Following a tragic fire in May 2007 caused us to lose our location and many of our beloved animals, we’ve been working to rebuild our community and create a safe and wonderful new location for our pets. Animal Outreach has purchased a parcel of land on which to build a no-kill shelter and sanctuary, and a Catification makeover of the new location would really help to get us up and running again.
