We come again to a Friday of multi-tasking. I’m still doing data entry (are you sick of hearing about it yet? I am), and it’s time for another great Ask Away Friday as well as a Ladies Only Blog Share Link Party weekend. Theme: A Mother’s Day Tell-All.

It is time for the all new #AskAwayFriday! Get to know our new hosts, meet our new co-host, and grab our new logo! Be sure to check out our new Facebook page “AskAwayFriday” for a great place to meet up and send out a #BuddyRequest if you need a partner to swap with! And always feel free to contact me here or anywhere if you want to swap with me.

What is #AskAwayFriday? Well…

#AskAwayFriday was created by the amazing Penny from Real Housewife of Caroline County as a place for us to connect with other bloggers by asking them ten questions to really get to know them. The sky is the limit with the questions you ask!

Meeting other bloggers and making new friends is one of the best parts of this online world!

Introducing this week’s amazing co-host…Heather from The Frill of Life!

Heather is an amazing blogger and always full of smiles! As she states in her tagline, “I try to find reasons to smile in everyday life.” Be sure to stop by her site and check out her Busy Girl Blogger series, where she shares her amazing blog tips.

My partner this week is Sarah from Beauty School Dropout, also known as Zarah, (alter ego name) and contrary to popular belief, she is not a beauty school dropout. She just loves the song from “Grease”! She actually started her blog as a knitting blog, but it has expanded into a blog about faith, family, fitness, and food. Lots of great “F” words. Sarah also has two amazing sons.

To read Sarah’s answers to my questions, link HERE. Here are my answers to her questions:

1. What photo do you have on the lock screen or home screen of your phone right now?

Ah, believe it or not I had to check! For the longest time it was this leaves/rain droplets one. Recently I switched it to northern lights. It’s not my own photography, quite sadly. Now you all know that my phone is mostly charged and that I am writing this just before 2:00pm on Thursday!

2. I know photography and writing (and moose!) are lifelong passions for you, but what’s something that you’re currently obsessing over or crushing on? (for me it’s planting things — I think I have spring fever!)

Ooh, that’s a good one. I love to think crushes and obsessions. I’m going to go random here. First I am discovering new things at places I already love. As you probably know from my post a few weeks ago, my favorite bakery burned down and just re-opened. I was sleepless and melancholy this week until yesterday, when my good friend brought me over a box of cookies from there – the true way to my heart. I love that she handpicked cookies for me, that are different from the ones I handpick for myself! There was this chocolate sandwich cookie I had never had. Oh, yum. I can’t stop thinking about it. I’d take a photo but I already ate both. I also really love that song “Team” by Lorde. I love meeting blog friends. I’m meeting a few this month and then a whole bunch in June for the Blog U Conference. I’m obsessed with summer foods – salads, french fries, burgers and even seafood. There’s this dog park near our house and we find that if we take our three there, everyone gets happy, troubles melt away, and Des sleeps until nearly 8:00am the next morning. Everyone wins. Other people are also happy there – the dogs and the people.

3. What’s your favorite meal to cook for your family?

I don’t really cook…at all. My favorite meal on a spring/summer night when Cassidy is not around is to go to this amazing gourmet roadside shack, Captain Jack’s, and order chicken nuggets and french fries. And their clam chowder has bacon in it.

4. We are finally getting some warmer weather after this brutal winter. What’s your favorite spring/summer item in your wardrobe?

Oh I only live to wear sundresses and sandals. That’s it for me. I don’t know which is my favorite but here are some I love:

5. Mountains or beach?

Ideally, both! Doesn’t that exist? Maybe more on the west coast or in other countries. I love to rest at a beach and experience the sea air with a good book. I once went to an island of wild ponies in Maryland and I’d love to repeat that. I mean there were two of them milling around outside a public restroom. On a beach. Ponies! If I had to choose one or the other, I’d go with mountains. They fascinate me and there are often moose or other delights up there. Taken from a helicopter in B.C. in my crazier days:

6. What’s your least favorite kids’ TV show and why?

Well I know that it’s cool to hate “Caillou”, and Cassidy has banned it from this house, and it is really stupid. Caillou’s a little sh*t. However the shows that are on the Disney Channel but aren’t for little kids are terrible. The ones FOR little kids are actually pretty good. It’s the ones that follow. I can’t tell you which is my least favorite, because that would mean I could tell them apart! Here are some of them: “Dog With a Blog”, “Good Luck Charlie”, “Jessie,” “Austin & Ally,” “A.N.T. Farm.”

7. How would you describe yourself as a parent?

Probably grumpier than I thought I would be! And also, totally joyful and dreaming all of the time too. It’s like I was a bit lost until motherhood came into my life, a bit surprisingly. I’m sure I would have found my way without it, but I’ve always been incredibly grateful that I didn’t have to find this kind of light and love a different way. I feel that this is where I’m meant to be. I don’t watch my mouth well enough in front of my kids, and I sure as heck work way too hard and during hours I’m with them, but I hope they more remember our dog park outings, spontaneous ice cream trips, moose adventures, Disney World dreams..

..and way too many fart jokes.

8. What are the most important questions to ask when you’re trying to hire a photographer?

Good one! Probably questions about price, level of experience, their photography and working styles. Location ideas – if there’s a studio or not, if they’ll come to your home, etc. If they’ll shoot color, black and white, or both. Editing experience and philosophy. If they need an assistant and if the assistant will cost extra. (usually not) If they will charge for travel. And what comes with the photography package. You want to be clear on what you’re getting and not getting regarding prints, high-res DVDs, reprint rights, etc. What they’ll do if your kid climbs a tree before the shoot even starts. Answer: photograph it, of course!

9. What’s the best book you’ve read recently?

I read “Me Before You” and “The Light Between Oceans” and I do believe both were incredible, but they butchered my heart! I’m talking heaving sobs.

10. Are you a goal-setter? (I am… to a fault, probably.) If so, what’s a goal you’re currently working towards?

I am, although it’s a really winding process of being oblivious and fearful and dumb along the way. It all depends, really. Currently, I’m working towards feeling better and fresher about my writing and photography. I want that next step to happen.

Well thank you, Sarah. Those questions were a lot of fun to answer!
