Recently Twitter launched a new great feature that you can use completely free of charge. This tool (Lead Generation Card) allows you to send a banner attached to your tweet with a call to action button. When users click on the button, their details get automatically added to your email list. Sounds cool? Then read on to find out how to get it set up for your campaign!

First step is to set up your account on Twitter Ads for Business

This doesn’t cost you anything – you need to register your details and add a payment method (credit or debit card) – don’t worry we are not actually using Twitter Ads for this marketing tip.

Go to https://business.twitter.com/ and add your details;

Under Account choose Payment methods and add a card;

You can also browse around the site to check out Analytics for your past tweets to see what was working or not.

Second step is to create your Twitter Lead Generation cards

What cards look like:

What you need to set it up:

Description (50 characters) – this is your call to action, description of the offer

Card image (600px by 150px, up to 1mb size) – visual, attention grabbing representation of the offer

Button text (20 characters) – what action you want users to take

Privacy policy link on your website – to explain how you process and store data

Destination URL – where you want users to be redirected when they submit their details.

Data settings – these will need to be obtained from your email marketing provider. Below I’ve listed guides on implementing this with the most popular tools.
