Being two years old means that our son has an opinion. About everything.

He likes peas, but not carrots.

He loves the color red, and insists upon calling the color green, blue.

His favorite shoes to wear are sandals, and his favorite food is ice cream.

But above all else, my little lad loves Mickey Mouse.

Anytime the beloved Disney character is in a book, on a sticker, or even designed out of three mini pancakes, my son goes bonkers!

He has Mickey Mouse shirts, shoes and coloring books.  The number one thing he requests to watch when the TV is on is his "Mickey show."

Now that our newest tiny baby has arrived, we thought we would update our toddler's nursery.  He has been an amazing big brother so far, so to reward him, we let him pick his room's theme.

Want to know what he picked?

Surprise, surprise - he picked Mickey Mouse!

On a recent trip to Walmart, I came across the perfect Mickey bedding. The Disney baby line has all sorts of cute crib options. It was the "Let's Go Mickey" bedding that caught my eye.

One of my favorite colors, aqua, is quite prominent, as is my son's favorite color, red!

The bedding set came with a comforter, fitted sheet and dust ruffle. I have never purchased or used a dust ruffle before, and I now love that I can hide extra diapers underneath my son's bed. No one needs to know -- except you of course!

Once I had the new bedding, I pulled together a few more items for his room.

We had a red toddler chair that has been unused in our basement, but is perfect for a reading corner in our son's nursery. Plus it matched his new bedding!

Next, I purchased a second toddler sized bookcase. We already have one of these bookcases in our family room and I love it! It keeps our son's books in order and off our floor.

The finishing touch to our nursery redesign was a little personalization!

Tall Dad got crafty and painted the first letters of our children's names for their doors.

Aside from the color maroon, we haven't yet decided upon a theme for our daughter's room. Maybe it would be another nerdsery (filled with all geeky and nerdy things!) like our son's used to be!

So what does our little lad think about his new nursery?

He loves it!
