India’s motorcycle culture is dominated mostly by 100cc till 150cc bikes so all the motorcycle manufacturers used to manufacture bikes of this category only with the acceptance of few. Earlier bikes above 250cc in India were rare commodity as people always wanted to own a big bikes but it was always out of their budget.

Now with the growing demand bike manufacturers are coming up with their powerful bikes in India at reasonable prices. The year 2015 will see lots of new entrants in the category of bikes above 250cc here.

So here is the list of upcoming 250cc and above bikes in India.

Hero HX250R

The new Hero HX250R will be the most powerful bike from the company’s stable after karizma zmr, the new hx250 is packed with a 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which will churn out 31PS of peak power and will have a torque rating of 26Nm.  The bike will be launched in June 2015 and with the expected price of Rs 1.5 lakhs. This will also be the first Hero to sport a six-speed transmission. Tipping the scale at just 139kg, the bike will have an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 223PS/ton. On the design front, the Hero HX250R is quite a stunner with twin-headlights, large windscreen and under seat exhaust.

Honda CB300F

This lightweight and nimble-handling naked bike offers plenty of fun for beginners and experienced motorcyclists the bike is more powerful then Honda cbr250r available in India.  The new bike features a 300-class engine and carries a dash of attitude and independence along with its versatile creeds. Whether you’re commuting, zipping around town or headed out for a weekend ride, its roomy ergonomics, great handling and broad power band make every ride a blast. Honda CBR300R

Honda will be launching another bike along with CB300F IN THE 300cc category it’s CBR300R. Both the bikes come with similar features with some visible distinctions as CBR300R is a sports bike which is manufactured in the lines of CBR250R.  The CB300R uses a single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, double-overhead cams and a counter balancer.   It comes with stylish CBR500R-inspired exhaust system features larger internal volume for increased performance, enhanced appearance and a throaty exhaust note. The bike will launched along with CB300F and will be priced around Rs180,000/

Yamaha YZF R25

Yamaha is set to launch the bike in the 250cc category. The new 250cc twin cylinder bike, which was introduced in Indonesia recently for about 2.7 lakh rupees, has captured the imagination of motorcycle enthusiasts in India as well. It will be assembled in Yamaha Chennai factory which will help to keep in check price of the bike.  It will take time for Yamaha launches India’s first 250cc motorcycle. Yamaha YZF 250 R4 Price India around 2.5 lakhs expected.

Yamaha YZF R3

Especially designed with speed and agility in mind, the Yamaha YZF-R3 is ready to reward its rider with top notch performances each time he jumps on its saddle.

The new 2015 Yamaha R3 sports a class-leading, 321 cc, liquid cooled, in line, 2 cylinder DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, fuel-injected engine which develops maximum power at 10,750 rpm.

The motorcycle also features a newly designed steel frame and swingarm and a powerful 298 mm floating mount front disc brake paired with a rear 220mm floating disc.

The motorcycle rides on 10 spoke cast aluminum wheels which are wrapped in 110/70-17M/C 54H front and 140/70-17M/C 66H rear tires.

Hero Hastur

The new Hero Hastur is a street-naked concept bike which will be will be powered by a four-stroke 620cc parallel-twin engine producing 79bhp and 72Nm of torque. The liquid-cooled engine is mated to six-speed gearbox. With a kerb weight of just 160kgs, the engine is capable of propelling the Hastur to 240kmph, with the sprint to 100kmph taking just 3.8 seconds.

The front headlight comprises two projector lamps, and gives a predatory impression. The motorcycle’s instruments are set on the tank. Bar end mirrors sit mounted on either side of the relatively flat handlebars, with alloy finished, reach adjustable clutch and brake levers. Ten-spoke alloy wheels carry Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres while braking is taken care of by four-pot radial-mount discs in the front and a single-piston disc at the rear.

Honda CB500X

The new 500cc bike from Honda will come with 471cc liquid cool engine. The bike will be launched in second part of year 2015 in India. The adventurous looking CB500X is fun to ride. The X gets that adventure-bike look all the kids crave, along with a bigger, 4.5-gallon tank that should give it more than 200 miles of range at the 53-mpg burn rate we observed. The bike will be priced around Rs 3.5 lakhs.

Honda CB500R

The sports looking bike from Honda will be launched in mid 2015 here. The Honda CBR500R is one of the most popular sport bikes found on today’s streets. And there is no wonder why, because it’s reliable, affordable and rewards you with first class performances each time you jump on its back.

This Japanese beauty is propelled by a 471cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with PGM-FI With 34mm throttle bodies. The unit is combined with a six-speed transmission.  The bike is set to be priced around 4.25  Lakhs in India.

DSK Benelli TNT 300

DSK-Benelli is a joint venture between DSK MotoWheels and Benelli, one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers of Europe. The Italian firm is now part of motor Group Qianjiang, a Chinese corporation. DSK-Benelli is importing its impressive motorcycle models ranging from 300cc to 1130cc, via the CKD route to our shores, which are assembled, marketed and serviced by DSK. this the new Benelli TNT 300 must deliver on a wide range of parameters to be seen as a worthy alternative to the likes of the 390 Duke from KTM and the Z250 from Kawasaki. The Bike will be priced around 4 lakhs and will be launched in India in the month of March.

Hyosung GD 250N

Hyosung’s upcoming bike is quirky looking GD250N which will be launched in late 2015 and expected to be priced around 1.75 laks to 2 lakhs. It will come with 249cc liquid cool single pot motor with 6 speed gearbox combination.

Kawasaki Versys 650

Although Versys 650 is a third gen bike versys but the tourer bike will be launched for the first time in India.

The 649cc parallel twin-cylinder engine has an extra 5bhp and 2ftlb of torque (200rpm further up the revs). It’s still packed with lots of low-down and mid-range grunt, but really you’d be hard pushed to notice the extra oomph over the old model in isolation. The bike will be launched in late 2015 and its expected price will be around 6 lakhs.

Harley Davidson Street 500

Mahindra Mojo 300

The Mahindra Mojo 300 has been showcased to dealers at an event. This confirms that the launch of the bike is not far off. The Mojo has received a refresh and was showcased in its latest guise at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The bike was showcased in a dual-tone sporty paint job to the dealers and this paint option is certainly expected to attract a lot of customers.

The Mahindra Mojo is expected to be priced at around Rs. 2 Lakh.

Bajaj Pulsar 400ss

Bajaj unveiled the production version of the faired 375 cc bike SS400. We had earlier published some rendered images of this 375cc machine. Pulsar SS400 which was showcased at auto expo will be based on Indian KTM duke 390. It will have a 4 valve liquid cooled triple spark with fuel injection engine. Engine will be mated to a six speed transmission system. ABS equipped braking system will give the bike more dynamic braking. Bike will be listed as ‘Super Sports’ category in Bajaj’s product portfolio.

Bajaj Pulsar 400cs

Bajaj has unveiled its Pulsar CS400, a naked street bike. The CS stands for Cruiser Sports. The Pulsar CS400 gets the same platform as the KTM Duke 390. It gets 375 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, FI engine with triple spark ignition technology. The 375cc engine is the modified version of KTM Duke 390 with 6 speed transmission. The KTM Duke 390 engine can develop maximum power 44 HP and maximum torque of 35 Nm. It will get disc brakes at the both front and rear. It will include telescopic suspension at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. We can expect the price of Pulsar CS400 is Rs.1.85 lakh. The company will not replace its existing Avenger with this Pulsar CS 400. We can expect the launch of this Pulsar CS 400 by 2015. All other details will be revealed at the time of its launch.
