Peter Davis, CEO of IDEA, will continue in a leadership role with AIM working with his team overseeing the integration of the companies

Boulder, CO – October 24, 2016 — Active Interest Media, Inc. today announced it has acquired IDEA Health & Fitness Association, the world’s leading organization of fitness and wellness professionals. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition of IDEA Health & Fitness Association—with its well-established brands, world-renowned events, multi-media platforms, access to loyal audiences, and rich content and video archives—deepens and extends AIM’s portfolio, furthering the company’s continued diverse growth.

Founded in 1982 by Peter and Kathie Davis, IDEA Health & Fitness Association is a multi-platform fitness company that holds several major events a year, including the annual IDEA World Convention—­the largest fitness conference in the world. IDEA also has partnerships with some of the best-known fitness organizations including ACE, Zumba, TRX, and more. Their fitness directory features over 250,000 fitness professional and is the only directory that verifies credentials with over 200 certification and training groups. IDEA also holds well-attended specialty events including IDEA BlogFest, an invitation-only event with top social influencers. They publish several print and digital publications including IDEA Fitness Journal, the leading magazine for fitness professionals. IDEA’s website, www.ideafit.com, is the most visited fitness professional website in the world.

The software and technology arm of IDEA (ClubConnect and CoursePlus) were not included in this transaction and will operate under the new brand, Inspire360.
