Yet another match tonight for The Young Reporter, only the 6th in as many days but let me tell you all give me a game of bowls anytime, it beats Emmerdale and Coronation Street ( double episode ) any day of the week

A difficult encounter this evening, against a very good side, ok it's Moseley's Junior side but let me tell you there were plenty of them with first team experience so we were up against it this evening Plus the fact that as we were in effect the "A" side we had to give Moseley an extra 8 shots. So here we go then here are the scores from both the away and home legs

At the Mecca of bowls, the Colebrook

Colebrook Moseley B

The Special Sweaty One 21 Steve Ballard 8

Mark Gambachino 15 Kevin Wootton 21

The Mighty Gleeeeba 21 Steve Williams 12

Neil Smith 15 Spindle 21

Jake Willams 13 Steve Green 21

Paul Davis 21 Eddie Musgrave 7

On Moseley

Colebrook Moseley B

Keith Mole 21 Chris Pegg 20

Trevor Tyler 21 Roger Freeman 17

Colin Parkes 17 Dave Kiffin 21

JUNIOR 21 John Kiffin 14

Clive Bevan 17 Ray Pegg 21

Sir Dave Kentish 20 Barry Jennings 21

Total Match Score 223 204

Handicap 16 24

Total Overall Match Score 239 228

So overall after all 12 matches completed ( including Handicap ) we win by 11 shots overall

Both sides having 6 winners each, 3 on each green.

Highlights on the Colebrook

Spindle told me to give him a mention, so well done Spindle beating the undefeated Neil, it only took one bowl to win an end this evening !!! ( until this evening, Sorry Neil ) but well bowled Mr Smith, also wins for Moseley by Kevin Wootton and Steve Green.

For us The Special Sweaty One keeps on producing no matter if it's Bomber Cup, Wednesday Superleague, Thursday Night as well as Saturday afternoons, we won't tell you how he plays on Sunday's but let's just say that Sweaty isn't keen on such an early start hey Sweaty but very well done tonight.

Also fantastic wins by the Captain, The Mighty Gleeeeeba. Junior knows what to get you for Christmas, another pair of Firetrap trainers, Gleeeba's form has improved no end keep up the great stuff mate.

PD was just PD, nice and steady and focused on the job in hand, Paul played really well to beat Eddie to single figures

On Moseley

Well must start with myself this evening JUNIOR played extremely well this evening and I was pleased to beat a very good player in John tonight, the green was in very good nick and was running pleasantly well. Junior won the sweep with his performance, next week's KFC almost paid for already and it's only Monday

The only problem I had tonight was figuring out who's bowls were who's. Me and John had identical woods, myn 2 10's whilst John had 2 12's, the one end I managed to send one of John's woods, so that end I ended up 2 down.

Next Spindle's mate TT, Trev apparently told Spindle he's been struggling to send his bowls and has been struggling with his delivery recently Trev tonight must be working for Royal Mail on the sly as tonight he certainly had a Special Delivery Trev has applied his trade on Moseley before as he played there for a bit, so knew a bit about the green.

Trev played really well this evening, so well bowled TT good stuff mate

Also for us the other matches were very close Keith sneaking in at the death, in a ding dong match winning to 20. A similar match between Dave and Barry which was also a very good match to watch, Barry just snuck this one in a last end decider.

Very good performances also by Clive, who feels and played better than he did yesterday ( well done tonight mate ) and Colin Parkes who battled for every shot this evening, trailing Dave 17-7, Colin bowled very well to get another 10 shots. It just shows you must always battle for every shot, we needed them all tonight, so well done Colin and the whole of our side

( Both the home and away side )

We won both on ours and on Moseley, which is from JUNIOR no mean effort so well done Captain Gleeeeeba for getting the selection and who was playing where, just about right.

We look forward to the next round, where I believe we shall be up against KGV

This is Junior reporting from the ditch alongside the start at Moseley C.C.

It only takes one bowl to win an end, Just Ask Junior

PS. The Sweaty One and Gambachino played their matches, then went off to play their darts match which was inpromptly stopped so that The Sweaty One could find out how the bowls had finished We won Sweaty, hope you won the darts !

PPS. Thank you to the supporters who watched especially Dennis and Jean Parkes away at Moseley C.C and Stringer and SusieBoo at the Colebrook, Stringer keeping Junior up to date with things at the Brook

Not forgetting Neville Hughes and his dog, who had just completed his Dog Training on the cricket pitch at Moseley C.C ( the dog had the training and not Neville )

More reporting to come in the week, for all my readers to get stuck into
