I have no affiliation with Klipsch or any seller. And I normally don’t believe in “a deal of a lifetime”, but I think this is a rare chance to buy a luxury product at a great price. If you think that most tower speakers are “boxy” and ugly and that’s kept you from having them in your living room, I suggest that you look at the Klipsch Palladium line of speakers.

Apparently Klipsch is discontinuing the Palladium line. The P-37F tower speakers are on sale: $3,400 for a stereo pair direct from Klipsch – free shipping. (Presumably USA.) For years they sold at full retail: $8,000. I’ve owned the P-37F for several years. They are beautiful speakers. (I like the merlot finish.) They’re capable of great sound for classical and opera when paired with a crossover that off-loads low frequencies to a powered subwoofer. (I have a 2.1 configuration – i.e., stereo plus subwoofer. I use an Oppo BDP-105 universal disk player that provides the crossover function. I have the crossover set to 100Hz.) I use the Klipsch Palladium P-312W subwoofer (on sale 50% off for $1,949) that matches the P-37F tower speakers. Compared to most “square box” subs, the P-312W is beautiful, and it matches the tower speaker’s “boat-tail” shape, and beautiful wood veneer. (Of course any good quality subwoofer would work.)

The larger Palladium P-38F and P-39F tower speakers are also on sale. And matching Palladium center channel and surround speakers are on sale for anyone wanting a 5.1 system. And there’s a Palladium bookshelf: P-17B.

Note that these are 4 ohm speakers. The P-37F is very efficient at 96dB, so not a lot of amplifier power is needed. I’m a fan of tube amps, but I also have a modern NAD C375BEE solid state integrated amp in my system with the P-37F, and it has ample power (150wpc), and sounds great with the treble attenuated just a bit, and the bass accentuated a bit. (Based on my taste.) My tube amps that are in the system with my P-37F range from 18wpc to 55wpc, and they all drive the P-37F speakers nicely.

I use the system that I’ve described above for CDs, SACDs, 24bit/192kHz FLAC downloads, and for Blu-ray opera, ballet, and Hollywood movies. Whether it’s the dynamics of a soprano’s voice, or the mighty whack of a bass drum, in an average listening room the P-37F / P-312W delivers effortlessly.

If anyone is interested, I will try to answer any questions.

Maybe someone has a birthday coming up … or Christmas in July … :)

Here’s a crappy pic that I took with my crappy camera of my system with the Palladium speakers:
